NXT Results – February 17, 2021 – We begin with a look back at highlights from Takeover Vengeance Day.

While Beth, Vic, and Wade run through what is going to happen tonight, Kyle O’Reilly makes his way to the ring and he has something to say.

Kyle says you all saw what happened Sunday at Takeover.  I keep replaying the moment over and over in my head trying to make sense of it and I can’t.  I am shocked and confused.  I am pissed off and I am disappointed.  We were supposed to be unlike every other group that every came and went in this business.  We were special and you ruined it for all of us.  You kicked me in the face, but you also stabbed me in the back. The thing is, Adam, you are still my brother which is why I am giving you the benefit of the doubt.  I need to know what happened on Sunday.  I need you to come out and explain yourself.  When you are done, I’m probably going to punch you in the face, but i am willing to hear you out.

Roderick Strong comes out and he say the Undisputed Era is very special.  We know Adam.  Speaking for myself, I know Sunday Adam did that solely off emotion.  We are brothers who happen to understand that.  In this moment, Adam regrets.

Kyle tells Roddy that he doesn’t need him to explain it.  He needs to hear it from Adam.  He tells Roddy to stop this peacekeeping mission.

Strong starts to get on the apron and Kyle tells Roddy not to do it.  He says it isn’t that he doesn’t trust Roddy.  He says he doesn’t trust Roddy.  He tells Roddy he doesn’t need to hear him.  He wants Adam Cole to get his ass out here.

Finn Balor’s music plays and Kyle says he is not looking for Finn. Balor says he is looking for Kyle.  You want to talk to Adam?  Get in line behind me.  As far as I am concerned, we have some business to address.  On Sunday, you offered me your hand and I knew I shouldn’t have accepted it, but i did.  We saw what happened on Sunday.  Strong says Kyle had nothing to do with what Cole did.

NXT Tag Team Champions Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch run down with Pete Dunne, laying out Balor and Strong at ringside as fans boo them. Balor goes down and clutches his ankle. It appears O’Reilly watched the attack from the ring. Officials back Dunne off but he runs back over and stomps away on the champ. Dunne, Lorcan and Burch are backed away to the ramp by officials.

— William Regal is in the back with an update on Karrion Kross versus Santos Escobar.  We see a video from Santos Escobar.  He says if Kross wants to threaten him, no one threatens him.  I will tell you what I am going to.  I am going to go home.  It is not happening.  It happens when I want.  It will be on my time. Regal says the match will not happen tonight, but it will happen next week.  If Escobar does not appear next week, he will be suspended and stripped of his title. In the main event, we will have a six man tag match with Pete Dunne, Oney Lorcan, and Danny Burch against Finn Balor, Kyle O’Reilly, and Roderick Strong.

The Way vs. Shotzi Blackheart and Ember Moon

We go back to the ring and out comes The Way – Indi Hartwell and Candice LeRae with NXT North American Champion Johnny Gargano. Gargano is carrying missing person flyers for Austin Theory, who hasn’t been seen since the chloroform attack by Dexter Lumis at Takeover on Sunday. We get a replay of what Lumis did to Theory at Takeover. Gargano passes out the flyers to the announcers. Out next comes Shotzi Blackheart and Ember Moon. They ride in on Moon’s tank and fire her projectile over the ring. Gargano joins the announcers for commentary.

Shotzi and Candice start and Shotzi with a drop kick and forearm.  Ember tags in and hits a hip into the corner and a drop kick.  Shotzi tags in and hits a running boot that sends Candice to the floor.  Shotzi with a forearm to the back.  Ember tags in and hits a back heel kick and suplex.  Ember gets a near fall.  Candice pushes Ember away and tags in Indi.  Shotzi tags in and Shotzi goes for the leg but Indi blocks her and Shotzi with a rollup.  Shotzi with a front face lock and Ember tags in and gets a near fall with a rollup.  Candice tags in.

Candice misses a clothesline and Ember with a waist lock.  Shotzi tags in and kicks Candice and hits a back senton for a near fall.  Shotzi with a side head lock and Candice backs Shotzi into the corner and connects with shoulders.  Candice with a snap mare and a leap frog neck snap for a near fall.  Indi tags in and stomps on the leg.  Indi stomps on the other leg and gets a near fall.  Shotzi with forearms but Indi with a knee to the midsection.  Candice tags in and she connects with a forearm.  

Indi tags back in and she goes for a slam but Shotzi escapes and sends Indi into the ropes.  Candice is sent into the ropes and Ember tags in and they hit a back senton and kick combination.  Ember with a slingshot splash on Indi for a near fall.  Shotzi tags in and gets a near fall.  Ember tags back in and she applies a wrist lock and Irsih whips Indi into the corner and Shotzi with a tarantula but Candice pulls Shotzi off Indi and Indi kicks Ember.  Candice tags in and gets a near fall.  Candice with a front face lock.  

We see a white van arriving at the building so we don’t know what is going on in the match.

Ember gets back ot her feet and Candice with a sunset flip for a near fall.  Candice with a clothesline for a near fall.  Candice with kicks and forearms and then she tags Indi into the match.  Indi with a back elbow for a near fall.  Indi with shoulders in the corner and she gets Ember on her shoulders but Ember gets to her feet.  Indi keeps Ember from making the tag and she gets a near fall after a side slam.  Candice tags in and she hits an elbow drop.  Candice works on Ember’s back and she stands on Ember’s back.

Candice traps the arms and sends Ember to the mat for a near fall.  Candice sends Ember into the corner and tags Indi back in.  Ember with forearms and Indi with forearms of her own.  Ember with more forearms but Indi sends Ember to the apron and connects with a forearm.  Candice tags in and Indi drops Ember on the ropes and she goes to the floor.  Candice with a cross body off the ropes to the floor.

Johnny gets up and goes to check on the mysterious van as we go to commercial.

We are back and Shotzi and Indi tag in and Shotzi with an enzuigiri.  Shotzi with a running knee into the corner followed by a wraparound bulldog for a near fall.  Shotzi with Cattle Mutilation but Candice with a step up back senton to force Shotzi to release the hold.  Ember with a butterfly suplex to Candice.  Indi with a clothesline to Ember and then to Shotzi.

We go to Johnny in the most dangerous parking lot in Sports Entertainment and he is looking in the van but he cannot see anything.

Meanwhile, back in the ring and Candice tags in.  Indi with a Glam Slam and Candice with a thrust kick for a near fall.  Shotzi with a jaw breaker and Ember tags in and Shotzi swings Candice into Indi.  Shotzi with a face buster and Ember with a gutbuster for a near fall.  Shotzi and Ember go up top and Candice backs into the ropes to knock Moon down.  Indi takes care of Shotzi.  Indi tags in and holds Ember in the ropes but Johnny shows up on the stage with Austin.

Mom is so happy that her son is back but she ignore her daughter, who gets rolled up by Ember for the three count.

Winners:  Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart

— We go to Pat McAfee with comments earlier today and he says you are realizing what I knew all along.  You thought the man who was going to protect the wrestling community is a scumbag just like I said.  I am here to tell you what you know. #PatWasRight

— We are back and we see footage of KUSHIDA earlier today when McKenzie ambushes him to ask him for his thoughts on his match on Sunday.  KUSHIDA says it was an honor to wrestle against Johnny Gargano and he says he is not done with Johnny. Bronson Reed shows up and he tells KUSHIDA that he is not done with Johnny either and if it has to happen, they will meet on their way to the title. Malcolm Bivens says he knows KUSHIDA wrestled for 25 minutes on Sunday but he has an idea for KUSHIDA tonight.  He asks if KUSHIDA is medically cleared and then he says that he has to talk to Mr. Regal.

Isaiah Scott vs. Leon Ruff

They lock up and Scott backs Ruff into the corner and gives a clean break and gets Ruff to cover up.  Ruff with an arm drag and he leaps into the corner but lands on the turnbuckles when Scott moves.  Scott with an Irish whip and Ruff goes to the apron and connects with a forearm.  Ruff avoids Scott and hits a drop kick.  Ruff with an arm drag into an arm bar.  Scott with a jumping knee to Ruff.  Scott with a back breaker.  Scott with a drop kick into the corner.  Scott sends Ruff to the floor and then back into the ring for a near fall.

Scott with a body scissors.  Ruff with a forearm to escape.  Ruff with punches and Scott wants him to hit him again.  Scott with a chop and full nelson but Ruff escapes and chops Scott.  Ruff with a kick to the midsection and forearm.  Ruff with a flying forearm and back elbow.  Ruff with a rebound clothesline and a side head lock.  Ruff with a cutter off the turnbuckles but Scott gets his hand on the ropes to stop the count.  Scott pulls Ruff off the turnbuckles and connects with punches.  Scott gets Ruff to flinch and kicks Ruff.  Scott misses a kick and Ruff with a double stomp.  Scott with a clothesline.  Ruff with a crucifix bomb for the three count.

Winner:  Leon Ruff

After the match, Scott shakes hands with Ruff, but it was a decoy for Scott to punch and attack Ruff.  Scott says he isn’t done and he sends Ruff into the turnbuckles with a Death Valley Driver. Scott says Ruff is handed everything and he wants to know where is his North American Title match.

We go to commercial.

Kayden Carter and Kacy Catanzaro vs. Jessi Kamea and Aliyah

Jessi and Kacy start things off and Jessi sends Kacy to the mat.  Jessi blocks a drop toe hold and Kacy with an arm drag take down.  Kayden tags in and they send Jessi into the ropes and they kick Jessi and Kayden gets a near fall.  Kacy gets a near fall and then she tags in Kayden.

We see Boa on the stage and Jessi hits Kayden with a forearm.  Aliyah tags in and she connects with forearms.  Jessi tags in and they hit a cutter and gourdbuster combination for a near fall.  Kayden with an arm drag to escape.  Kayden with a kick and Aliyah and Kacy tag in.  Kacy kicks Aliyah and punches her.  Kacy with a near fall.  Kayden tags in and they hit a neck breaker and cross body combination for the three count.

Winners: Kayden Carter and Kacy Catanzaro

After the match, Xia Li is released from her bird cage hat.  Kayden has to be held back by Kacy.  Kacy says it doesn’t have to be this way.  They are her friend and they are trying to help. Xia grabs Kacy’s hand and she puts two marks on Kacy’s hand and then Xia says next week, she will hurt Kacy.

— Malcolm Bivens says KUSHIDA was impressive at Takeover, but Tyler Rust is more impressive.  Tyler is a once in a generation talent.  You do not have his drive or ambition. You are not 100 percent but you are medically cleared.  Tyler will take care of you because he is not a rookie, he is a diamond in the Rust.

— We see the two Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Winners walking in split screen in the back as we go to commercial.

In the Arena:

Back from the break and Alicia Taylor introduces WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix in the ring. She’s standing with the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic trophy. Phoenix recalls some words of wisdom from the late WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes, then sends us to a video package on the two recent Dusty Classic tournaments.

We come back and Phoenix calls on fans to join her in welcoming the winners of the 2021 Men’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic – MSK. The music hits and out comes Wes Lee and Nash Carter. They take the mics on the ramp and ask Beth to excuse their excitement. They start getting hyped up and enter the ring to check out the trophy. They also hug Beth.

We see how MSK’s name is now on the trophy with the other winners. The women’s winners are also on the same plaque, meaning there will not be separate trophies. MSK then talks about their upcoming opportunity, naming NXT Tag Team Champions Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch. Beth asks MSK to join her in welcoming the winners of the first-ever Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. The music hits and out comes Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez.

Kai and Gonzalez hit the ring and MSK opens the ropes for them to enter. Fans chant “you deserve it!” now. Beth asks how they’re feeling. Kai says they feel awesome, crushing the competition will always take their breath away but moments like these are why they do it. Kai says they were by far the best tag team in the tournament. The music interrupts and out come the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions – Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler.

Baszler starts in on the mic. MSK also opens the ropes for Jax and Baszler. Baszler says Kai and Gonzalez were on the right side of history at Takeover, but when they face off, they will be on the wrong side of history. Kai introduces Gonzalez to Jax and Baszler since she wasn’t here when they were in NXT. Kai says Jax is big, and Baszler ran away when Rhea Ripley beat her ass. Gonzalez asks if that’s the same Ripley she beat in a Last Woman Standing match. Baszler says this is the same ‘ol Dakota Kai, who’s scared like when Baszler broke her arm. Kai says she’s not the same person but if Baszler wants to find out, she will happily kick her head off. Fans cheer them on as MSK and Beth watch from the corner, eating popcorn. Gonzalez says a lot has changed since Baszler left as she doesn’t run the place, they do. Gonzalez mentions the title match will happen in two weeks and says they will make sure Baszler realizes who runs NXT at that time.

Jax calms everyone down and says she came here to honor Dusty as she had the privilege of working with him. She recalls Dusty saying, “Baby you are one big beautiful badass b—h!” She says Dusty was right, and she and Shayna are the most dominant force in WWE. Gonzalez says Dusty, God rest his soul, never met her. Shayna says either way, two weeks on March 3, they’re coming back to Dakota and Raquel’s home turf to humiliate them. The champs exit the ramp as their music hits. Gonzalez interrupts and says she’s going to shove her boot so far up “Nia’s hole” that she will never get it out. Wes Lee collapses and spills his popcorn, as fans pop as Jax and Baszler look back from the stage. 

— We see Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong arguing in the most dangerous parking lot in sports entertainment.

— We are back with Cameron Grimes and his video that aired on Vengeance Day. We hear a crash and see the Lamborghini crashed.  Cameron says the car is faster than he thought so he has to get another one.

— We take a look at a photo shoot from this afternoon when Toni Storm attacked Io Shirai, but thankfully, the camera man still took photos of the attack.

KUSHIDA vs. Tyler Rust

They lock up and go to a stalemate.  They lock up and KUSHIDA backs Rust into the corner and gets a near fall.  KUSHIDA goes for the leg but Rust backs into the corner.  Rust with a wrist lock and KUSHIDA with a reversal.  Rust with a reversal and he takes KUSHIDA to the mat and KUSHIDA holds his shoulder.  KUSHIDA goes for the leg and he goes for the arm but Rust blocks it.  KUSHIDA with a wrist lock and Rust with a hip lock take down.  

Rust with a hammer lock and KUSHIDA gets to the roeps and goes through the ropes and applies a hammer lock and uses the ropes on the arm.  They lock up and Rust with a front face lock but KUSHIDA with a side head lock and handspring back elbow.  KUSHIDA with a cover and bridge for a near fall.  Rust slaps KUSHIDA and he connects with a European uppercut.  KUSHIDA kicks Rust and goes to the apron and KUSHIDA with a kick and he drops the arm on the top rope.  KUSHIDA goes up top and Rust pulls KUSHIDA off the turnbuckles and KUSHIDA lands awkwardly.  Rust with a reverse chin lock and body scissors but KUSHIDA gets to the ropes.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Rust with a cravate but KUSHIDA escapes and hits a hip toss and cartwheel followed by a drop kick.  KUSHIDA with a punch but he misses the kick to the arm.  KUSHIDA with a divorce court.  KUSHIDA with Kawada kicks and KUSHIDA with a front face lock and hammer lock.  Rust with a back body drop and kick to the head.  Rust with a front face lock and suplex.  Rust with a scissors kick for a near fall.  KUSHIDA gets a near fall.  Rust with more kicks to the head and he gets a near fall.  Rust with a waist lock and he tries for a deadlift German suplex but KUSHIDA blocks and tries for one of his own.  KUSHIDA goes for a bridge but Rust with a sleeper.  KUSHIDA gets out of the sleeper but Rust with a bow and arrow but KUSHIDA gets a near fall.

KUSHIDA with a drop kick to the arm and a kick to the arm.  KUSHIDA misses the body scissors and Rust gets KUSHIDA on his shoudlers.  KUSHIDA with a take down into the Hoverboard Lock.  Bivens gets on the apron and the referee calls for the bell.

WInner:  KUSHIDA

–We take a look at Zoey Stark and she will have her NXT debut next.  We go to commercial.

— We are back with a look at the debut of LA Knight on the Vengeance Day Kickoff Show.

We go to footage from earlier today of LA Knight. He wants to talk to you.  He says it was a few days ago that he put NXT on its ear.  People are talking about how LA Knight might already be the greatest NXT superstar.  He says he will knock your head off if you come by unannounced.  He will truly be the hottest free agent and who will stop him?  NXT belongs to him.  You won’t stop me because I won’t let you and that is just a fact of life.

Zoey Stark versus Valentina Feroz

Stark with a front face lock and a butterfly suplex.  Stark runs Feroz into the turnbuckles.  Feroz with forearms and a side head lock.  Feroz goes for a sunset flip but Stark does not go over.  She misses a stop.  Feroz with a kick and judo throw for a near fall.  Stark with a knee to the midsection.  Stark catches Feroz and drops her onto the turnbuckles.  Stark with a thrust kick.  Stark with a half and half suplex followed by a sliding knee to the head.  Stark with a reverse suplex into a knee to the face for the three count and a very good debut.

Winner:  Zoey Stark

— Scarlett says Santos time is not your forte.  You don’t have that power.  There is no pause button on this nightmare.  Karrion tells Santos your destiny has already been decided and there ain’t no going back.  You have a big decision to make.  Option A, you show up next week and step in the ring with me and I take my arm and drive it through the back of your head on live television.  Option B, you don’t show up and you are stripped of your championship and I catch up with you anyway.  There is no easy way out of this one, just the hard way. Tick Tock.

Pete Dunne, Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch vs. Finn Balor, Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong

We go back to the ring for tonight’s six-man main event as Pete Dunne and NXT Tag Team Champions Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch are out to boos. NXT Champion Finn Balor is out next to a pop. The Undisputed Era music starts up next as Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong head to the ring. Back to commercial.

Kyle and Lorcan start things off and they lock up.  Lorcan misses a chop and Kyle with forearms.  Lorcan misses another chop and Kyle with forearms.  Lorcan with a shoudler tackle and Kyle with a hip toss.  Strong wants to tag in and Kyle tags in Balor.  Balor with a punch and arm bar.  Balor tags Kyle in and Kyle goes to the turnbuckles for a forearm.  Kyle continues to work on the arm.  Balor tags in again and he comes off the turnbuckles with a double sledge.  Balor with an arm bar.  Lorcan backs Balor into the corner and Burch tags in and Balor with a kick and snap mare into an arm bar.  Strong tags in and he connects with a knee and he works on the arm and sends Burch to the mat.

Strong with an arm bar and Burch backs Strong into the corner and Dunne tags in and he works on the arm with an arm bar.  Dunne with a take down and Strong with a reversal and drop kick.  Strong gets a near fall.  Strong goes for a half nelson back breaker but Dunne gets to the ropes.  Dunne with a back elbow and he sends Strong to the floor.  Dunne goes after Kyle on the apron and Burch and Lorcan move the ring steps.around.  Strong takes care of Lorcan and Burch and he drops Dunne on the top rope.  Strong with a back breaker and Kyle and Lorcan tag in.  Kyle with a kick and Burch tags in and he slaps Burch and connects with knees and follows with a leg sweep.

Kyle with dragon screw leg whips but he comes off the apron and is met with a forearm to the jaw by Dunne.

Dunne works on the hand while on the floor and then he applies a wrist lock and works on the hand. Lorcan gets a near fall on Kyle.  Burch tags in and he kicks Kyle.  Kyle with forearms but Burch with a drop toe hold and he applies a Fujiwara arm bar before tagging in Dunne.  Dunne with a surfboard and he works on the arm and stomps the knees into the mat.  Dunne with a fish hook on Strong.  Dunne knocks Balor off the apron and Kyle with a dragon screw leg whip to Dunne.  Burch tags in and connects with European uppercuts and Burch gets a near fall.

Dunne tags in and kicks Kyle.  Burch tags in and he kicks Kyle and Irish whips Kyle.  Kyle with a boot and both men with clotheslines and both men are down.  Dunne tags in and knocks Strong off the apron and then he applies an ankle lock.  Kyle with a rebound move and he tags in Balor.  Balor with a clothesline and drop kick to the knee.  Balor with a chop and a double stomp to Lorcan.  Balor with a single leg crab attempt but Dunne with an inside cradle for a near fall.  Balor with an elbow drop for a near fall.  Strong sends Burch into Lorcan and STrong takes care of them.  Dunne goes for the hand but balor escapes.  Dunne with an enzuigiri.  Balor avoids The Bitter End.  Balor with Slingblade.

The referee is knocked out when he tries to take the title belt from Burch and Balor drop kicks Dunne into the referee.  Adam Cole pushes Balor into the referee and then he hits a bicycle kick on Kyle.  Cole with a brainbuster onto the ring steps.Cole leaves.

Strong with a knee to Lorcan and he takes the NXT Title belt.  Balor with a Pele Kick to Strong and then he realizes that he hits hit tag team partner.  Dunne with Bitter End for the three count.

Winners:  Pete Dunne, Danny Burch, and Oney Lorcan

After the match, the heels head to the ramp as their music hits. We go to replays. Lorcan and Burch raise their titles as Dunne stands in the middle. We get another replay of the attack by Cole. The heels leave as Balor gets to his feet in the ring. He turns around to a big superkick by Cole, who has returned to the ring. Fans boo as Cole stands tall over Balor. Cole looks out at the referee, who is calling for medics to tend to O’Reilly. Cole grabs the NXT Title and kneels down, holding it over Balor. Cole then raises the NXT Title in the air as the boos get louder. The post-Takeover edition of NXT goes off the air with Cole raising the title in the air to boos while O’Reilly is face-down on the outside.
