Eli Drake Signs With WWE – On the same day the news broke that WWE has reportedly signed Taya Valkyrie, another report states that the company has signed Eli Drake.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider states that WWE has signed the former IMPACT World Champion. “WWE has signed former Impact Wrestling World Champion Eli Drake (real name Shaun Ricker, 38) to a deal for the WWE NXT brand, PWInsider.com has confirmed,” wrote Johnson.
Drake made an appearance shortly before they went on the air for the NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day pre-show. According to those in attendance at TakeOver, Drake was referring to himself as LA Knight.
During a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, Drake indicated that a return to pro wrestling might not be in the cards since he was looking at doing outside projects but plans have changed and, based on the clip below, it looks like he will be part of the NXT brand.
