Major Feud Planned for LA Knight Heading Into Night of Champions – Coming out of a dramatic Money in the Bank weekend, WWE appears to be moving forward with a high-profile feud between Seth Rollins and LA Knight, according to a report by Cory Hays.
The seeds were planted Saturday night during the closing moments of the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match. LA Knight was at the top of the ladder and fingertips away from victory when Rollins pulled him down and hit a Stomp, allowing himself to claim the briefcase and become the new Mr. Money in the Bank. The move drew loud boos from the crowd, who had been rallying behind Knight throughout the match.
The confrontation wasn’t entirely unprovoked. On the SmackDown before Money in the Bank, Rollins and his recently formed faction—Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed—brutally attacked Knight in a backstage segment. That ambush not only set the tone for the pay-per-view but laid the groundwork for what’s expected to be a heated rivalry over the coming weeks.
With WWE Night of Champions scheduled for June 28 in Saudi Arabia, the feud is likely to become a major focal point on both RAW and SmackDown. While WWE has yet to officially announce a match between Rollins and Knight for the upcoming premium live event, the direction seems clear.
This latest feud is Rollins’ first major storyline since forming his new faction, while LA Knight continues to ride a wave of crowd support, even in defeat. WWE will likely use that fan energy to enhance the emotional stakes of the program.
Also set for Night of Champions are the King and Queen of the Ring finals, rounding out what is expected to be a stacked card.
More updates are expected on this developing rivalry as WWE continues its road to Night of Champions.
