Impact opens up with a replay of Kenny Omega defeating Jon Moxley from last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.
Josh Mathews and Madison Rayne welcome fans to this historic episode of Impact Wrestling! As the show begins, we see Omega’s tour bus entering Skyway Studios. Tonight, Josh Mathews will sit down with Omega for an exclusive interview. We kick things off with a singles match between two of the best tag team competitors!
Josh Alexander (w/Ethan Page) vs. Chris Sabin (w/Alex Shelley)
Both men lockup. Josh Alexander gets the best of both of them with a tight wristlock takedown. Chris Sabin breaks out of the hold. Sabin sends Alexander off his feet with a tilt-a-whirl head scissors, which transitions into a side headlock. Alexander finds his offensive step with a stomp to the midsection. Alexander looks for a cover, and Sabin kicks out at 2. Alexander corners Sabin with a big chop. Sabin reverses it with a flurry of chops of his own. Alexander drives his knee into Sabin for only a near-fall of 2. Alexander locks in Sabin’s right arm and slams him on the mat with a suplex.
Sabin breaks out of another lockup with a cutter. Sabin rolls Alexander up with a schoolboy pin. Alexander moves his shoulder up at 2. Sabin flies on top of Alexander after rolling Alexander up in a series of near-fall attempts. Alexander creates space for a forearm. He catches Sabin with his hurricanrana and turns it into a powerbomb. Alexander gets another near-fall count of 2. Sabin fights back with an enziguri. Alexander throws Sabin towards the center of the ring with another suplex. Sabin climbs to the top to land a massive missile dropkick. Alexander sends Sabin off his feet with a strong elbow. Sabin rolls Alexander up with a jackknife pin to gain the victory!

Josh Mathews and Madison Rayne briefly discuss Kenny Omega’s big win this past Wednesday on Dynamite. They both are looking forward to what Omega has to say tonight! Mathews is confident that he’ll get all the answers that wrestling fans want to know.
Backstage: Chris Bey wants to catch up with Moose before their tag team match later on tonight. He wants to create a strategy before their match. Moose says that his fists do all of the talking.
Owner of AEW Tony Khan and head color commentator Tony Schiavone jump on to make a quick announcement for tomorrow night’s AEW Dynamite. They announce what fans can expect on tomorrow night’s show!
Brian Myers vs. TJP
Brian Myers bullies his way into the match with a big push to TJP. TJP gets back up and drops Myers off his feet with a dropkick. The camera quickly zooms in on TJP’s smile following that moment. Myers kicks out quickly from a pin. TJP doesn’t get Myers’ legs locked in all the way for a sharpshooter. Myers grabs the bottom rope for a break. TJP turns it around with a tilt-a-whirl head scissors before climbing up towards the top rope. Myers sends TJP crashing to the floor.
Coming back from a commercial break, TJP continues his high flying offense with a tornado DDT. He keeps his momentum going with several suplexes before rolling through with the Mamba Splash. Myers slugs TJP with a strong clothesline for only a 2 count. TJP locks up Myers’ ankle. Myers’ grabs the bottom rope for another break. TJP flies off the top to officially connect his Mamba Splash. Myers rolls him up with a small package pin. TJP gets his shoulders up by the 2 count. Myers plants TJP with a spinebuster before ending the match with another one of his strong clotheslines.
Winner: Brian Myers
Backstage: Cody Deaner is mentally preparing for his big match with Eric Young tonight. He says that tonight he needs to go out there alone. Cousin Jake refuses to sit back; he’ll be out there. Cody makes Cousin Jake promise him to not get involved.
Backstage: The X-Division Champion Rohit Raju rubs it in TJP’s face about his loss and how he’ll never get to challenge him for the title again while he’s the remaining champ. TJP wishes him luck in his final “Defeat Rohit” Challenge on Saturday.
Eric Young (w/Joe Doering) vs. Cody Deaner (w/Cousin Jake)
Cody Deaner charges towards Eric Young only to get smashed with an elbow. Cody finds his footing following that blow with a set of stomps. He screams out that he is not a nobody. He sends Young on a ride with an Irish Whip to the opposite side. Young hoists Cody up on his shoulders with a death valley driver. Young gets a near-fall of 2. Cody gains a massive upset with a nice back elbow and powerslam. He comes up empty with a splash off the top. Young sends Cody down and out his devastating piledriver to gain the victory.
Winner: Eric Young
Post-Match: Joe Doering makes his way into the ring to connect a short-arm lariat and clothesline on The Deaners. Rhino’s music hits and he runs down with a lead pipe in hand. Doering and Young escape out of the ring.
Backstage:Tommy Dreamer tells a now healthy and recuperated John E. Bravo that he’ll take care of Larry D. Larry D challenges Dreamer to a match this Saturday at Final Resolution. Dreamer accepts his challenge.
Dreamer comes in to talk with Scott D’Amore about Omega’s arrival on Impact later on tonight. He says stuff like this never turns out well. He is worried for the overall locker room and how they’ll be treated going forth. D’Amore reassures him that everything will be ok.
Up next, we’ll see the final opening-round match of the Knockouts Tag Team Tournament!
Deonna Purrazzo & Kimber Lee vs. Taya Valkyrie & Rosemary
Rosemary and the Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo begin the match. Purrazzo goes right for Rosemary’s arm Rosemary tries to break free by grabbing on to her hair. The lockup is broken, and both women tag in their partners. Kimber Lee is all over Taya Valkyrie with a flurry of punches. She smashes Valkyrie face-first into the top turnbuckle before making a tag to Purrazzo. Purrazzo locks Valkyrie up with a foot chokehold and makes another quick tag back to Lee. Lee twists Valkyrie up into a pretzel briefly before a near-fall of 2. Lee tags Purrazzo back in for a double suplex. Purrazzo looks for a pin. Valkyrie kicks out again at 2.
Purrazzo lays down several kidney shots before Lee makes her way back in. Both women smash each other with back elbows. Rosemary now makes her way into the ring with a fierce sling blade and an exploder suplex. Purrazzo looks for her armbar. Rosemary spins free. Purrazzo sends her down with a flatliner. Valkyrie charges in with a double clothesline. All four Knockouts are trading shots in the center of the ring. Purrazzo accidentally kicked her partner Lee in the face. Rosemary drops Lee with her As Above, So Below finisher to win their opening-round match!

Backstage: Alisha Edwards does not have time for Tenille Dashwood and Kaleb’s (With A K) shenanigans. Dashwood isn’t too happy hearing that.
Deonna Purrazzo confronts Scott D’Amore about her loss and all the mind games she’s dealt with these past few weeks with Su Yung. She feels like she’s been treated unfairly. D’Amore says how about this: Purrazzo will defend her Knockouts Championship against Rosemary on Saturday!
Back in the ring, “The Draw” Sami Callihan has something to say!
Callihan starts his monologue by talking about how he is everything that defines a professional wrestler. He knows he’s been in the news as of late, following his attack on Eddie Edwards several weeks ago. He says that Eddie Edwards just never learns. He says it will always be the same: Sami beats Edwards’ ass over and over again. When he asks the production team to roll a clip of his baseball attack on Edwards. Nothing happens. He asks again. Alisha Edwards’ music hits. She warns him that she did not come alone. In comes Eddie Edwards! He gets ahold of Callihan’s bat. He takes a swing, Callihan ducks out of the ring.
Backstage: Alisha tells Eddie that since she helped him, she wants him to help her.
Chris Bey & Moose vs. Rich Swann & Willie Mack
The Impact World Champion Rich Swann and the self-proclaimed TNA World Heavyweight Champion Moose step up as the match begins. Well, take that back; Moose wants Chris Bey to start this match off. Bey and Swann showcase a series of aerial techniques before Swann connect a dropkick before the commercial break.
Back from the commercial break, Willie Mack and Moose are in the ring. Mack connects a senton on Moose in the corner. Moose takes the big man off of his feet with two Rock Bottoms. Chris Bey is tagged in. Moose throws Bey on top of Mack. Bey goes for a cover. Mack kicks out at 2. Bey drives his boot into Mack’s throat with a foot chokehold. Bey tags Moose back in. Moose fires away with a flurry of punches to the head. Moose stomps Mack’s spine and drags him over to his corner for a tag to Bey. Bey goes for another cover. Mack kicks out at 2. Moose tags himself back in.
Mack pulls off two stunners to get a tag in from Swann. Swann comes in hot with three spinning back kicks. Moose temporarily stops him to get Bey in. Swann is shocked to get a near-fall after a hurricanrana. Swann tags Mack back in. Mack misses his chance to connect his Six Star Frog Splash. Bey comes off the ropes with a spinning heel kick. Moose crashes into Mack with his Light’s Out spear. Swann comes to the aid of Mack. Bey gets the final pinfall of the main event match for this team.
Winners: Chris Bey & Moose
Up next, we’ll hear from Kenny Omega and Don Callis!
Josh Mathews meets Kenny Omega and Don Callis for their interview. Mathews begins the interview by asking how long this idea of AEW and Impact forming an alliance began. Don Callis takes Mathews down memory lane and describes how he first met Kenny Omega when he was 10-years-old. Callis wants the fans to know that he didn’t come back to be a podcast host or color commentator in New Japan. He says everything he’s done was part of the plan. Callis wants to set the history books right; he wants the world to see what a true champion looks like.
Mathews follows that statement by asking if Omega tarnished his championship reign by doing everything he told Jon Moxley he wouldn’t do: cheat to win. Omega knows he made a gentlemen’s agreement with Moxley, but he had a point to prove. Omega lists off all of his accomplishments and asks Mathews to respect him more.
Omega says as long as he has the AEW World Championship, he has plenty of time to travel, as well as collect more things. He says he doesn’t want to spoil anything, but tomorrow night, he has a big announcement. The only hint he gives is Lex Luger. Omega bids everyone a farewell before leaving the interview.
