Cody Accepts MJF Terms, PAC To Face Jon Moxley Next Week, DDP Returns To The Ring

On tonight’s AEW Dynamite Bash at The Beach episode, Cody gave his answer and he accepted MJF’s terms. They will now have a match at AEW Revolution.

Two weeks ago, MJF put out the following three stipulations:

  1. Cody can’t touch MJF at all before the bout
  2. Cody has to beat Wardlow (which would be his in-ring debut) in a Steel Cage Match
  3. Cody has to get down on all fours and get lashed ten times by MJF

Last week, Cody was asked if he’d accept, but his advisor, Arn Anderson, wanted to give it some more time, telling Cody to hold off. Tonight, Cody gave his answer and he accepted MJF’s terms. The match will take place at AEW Revolution on February 29 at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago.

It was also announced Cody will face Wardlow on February 19 in Atlanta, Georgia.

– Tonight’s episode also saw Diamond Dallas Page, 63, returning to the ring. Page teamed up with QT Marshall and Dustin Rhodes in a losing effort against MJF, The Butcher, and The Blade. MJF got the roll-up win over Marshall.

– In the Main Event, PAC defeated Darby Allin. Jon Moxley also defeated Sammy Guevara in singles action. Moxley was attacked by the Inner Circle after his match (after turning down the group last week) and was jabbed in the eye with a spike by Chris Jericho.

Originally, Moxley was supposed to face PAC next week on Jericho’s cruise to decide who will become the new number one contender. After the attack, it was teased Moxley may not be able to wrestle against PAC, but Moxley came out at the end of the night (with one eye bandaged up) to say he will be at next week’s Dynamite.

Below is the updated lineup:

  • SCU (c) vs. Hangman Page and Kenny Omega (AEW World Tag Team Championship)
  • PAC vs. Jon Moxley (Number One Contender Match for the AEW World Championship)
  • Joey Janela vs. Fenix
  • Chris Jericho, Santana, and Ortiz vs. Jurassic Express
