WWE RAW Results - October 15, 2018

We are live from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler, and Drew McIntyre make their way to the ring.

Ziggler takes the mic and says we’re looking at the best three-man team in WWE history. McIntyre says they didn’t need a catchy name or tactical vests to get it done. Braun says they proved it against The Shield last week and will prove it again, any time. Ziggler shows us a replay of last week’s six-man match on RAW, a rematch from Super Show-Down. We also see the post-RAW cryptic comments from Dean Ambrose. McIntyre says they didn’t just beat The Shield, they broke them. He goes on about how WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and WWE Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins have no use for Ambrose. McIntyre says finally everyone’s eyes are open, finally Ambrose has opened his eyes and The Shield has been shattered. Braun says The Shield won’t have Reigns’ back when he destroys The Big Dog and The Beast to become champion at Crown Jewel.

McIntyre plugs the WWE World Cup and how he will mow through the competition, proving that he’s the best in the world. Ziggler says Drew is great but he also has a qualifying match tonight and maybe they will go head-to-head in the finals. McIntyre says as good as Ziggler is, and he’s absolutely fantastic, but he’s no Drew McIntyre. They go on until the music interrupts and out comes Rollins and Reigns on the stage.

Rollins says The Shield is not broken, it’s alive and well. Rollins talks about the World Cup and says he will prove he’s the best in the world. Ziggler asks where Ambrose is. Ziggler says he will be happy to take a forfeit tonight. Rollins says Ambrose runs on his own time and shows up when he wants but the bottom line is that he always shows up. Reigns mentions how Braun will have to go to the back of the line after he loses at Crown Jewel. Rollins is ready for his qualifying match with McIntyre and that’s next. We go to commercial.

Drew McIntyre vs. Seth Rollins in a World Cup Qualifying Match

They lock up and Drew with a clean break. Drew with a side head lock and he holds on when Seth tries to send Drew off the ropes. Seth with a wrist lock and he wrings the arm. Drew with a forearm and side head lock. Drew with a shoulder tackle and he blocks a hip toss. Rollins with a flying boot to the head but Drew with a boot of his own. Drew goes for a powr bomb but Rollins counters into a rana that sends Drew to the floor. Rollins with a suicide dive but Drew catches Seth and hits an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Drew sends Seth back into the ring.

Rollins sends Drew into the apron and ringside barrier. Dolph Ziggler comes to the ring and Drew goes under the ring to hide from Seth as Dolph distracts Rollins. Drew pulls Seth into the apron and we go to commercial.

We are back and Seth with a top wrist lock but Drew with a forearm. Seth with a super kick and both men are down. Rollins lands awkwardly off the turnbuckles but he is able to hit Slingblade. Rollins with a Victory roll to counter the reverse Alabama Slam. Drew misses a shoulder into the corner and hits the ring post. Rollins with a Blockbuster for a near fall. Rollins goes up top and Drew stops Seth and chops him. Drew goes up top for a Super Air Raid Crash but Rollins gets to the apron and he hits an enzuigiri that puts Drew in the Tree of Woe. Drew pulls himself up and sends Rollins to the mat. Rollins goes to the turnbuckles and hits a superplex. Rollins goes for a Falcon Arrow but Drew counters with one of his own for a near fall.

Drew with a punch but Rollins with punches of his own. Drew misses a boot and Rollins with an enzuigiri and thrust kick. Dolph gets on the apron and distracts Seth. Rollins clotheslines Drew over the top rope and he hits a suicide dive on Dolph and then on Drew. Seth with a thrust kick and then Dolph pulls down the ropes and Seth goes over the top rope to the floor.

Dean Ambrose’s music plays and he attacks Dolph. Drew hits Dean from behind and then Seth with Black Out to Drew. Seth gets back into the ring before the ten count but Drew does not and the referee calls for the bell.

Winner: Seth Rollins (by countout)

After the match, Ambrose enters the ring as Rollins has his arm raised. Ambrose and Rollins show each other some love as the announcers hype the WWE World Cup. We go to replays as Rollins’ music plays.

– We see The Bella Twins backstage walking and they look paranoid. We also see WWE Hall of Famers Trish Stratus and Lita backstage talking. Bayley appears and hugs them.

Backstage:

We are back and we see The Shield walking in the back. Seth says he knew that Dean would show up since he is on Lunatic Time. Dean does not appreciate being called a lunatic. He is good for a few laughs, until they need to be bailed out. Dean says he has his own mess to deal with and he walks away.

– We have photos to show what happened at Super Show Down. We see what happened last week on Raw when the match at Crown Jewel was made between DX and The Brothers of Destruction.

Backstage:

We have a video package for Kane and The Undertaker. They walk through the underbelly of a building. Undertaker says respect and that Shawn and Hunter want to lecture them about it. Kane says respect for them died when they were attacked at Super Show Down. Taker says that what kept him in the shadows for eight and a half years was fear. Kane says it was fear that his brother would humiliate Shawn Michaels and put him down again. Taker says at Crown Jewel when the Brothers of Destruction reunite to unleash hell on Degeneration X for teh first time, all of Shawn Michaels’ fears will come true. Kane says that Hunter might have won the battle, but he started a war. Taker says that Hunter can go back to the safety of the boardroom while Shawn can go back to the safety of retirement. Kane says they have three words for you. Taker says Rest in Peace.

– Ember Moon and Nix Jax make theri way to the ring as we go to commercial.

Ember Moon and Nix Jax vs. Tamina and Dana Brooke

Dana and Ember start things off and they lock up. Dana pushes Ember into the turnbuckles but Ember with a waist lock. Dana with a standing switch. Ember escapes the hold and kicks Dana. Dana with a shoulder tackle but Ember kips up and takes Dana down with a leg sweep and gets a near fall with a rollup. Dana sends Ember into the turnbuckles and Tamina tags in. Tamina with a snap mare and reverse chin lock. Tamina with an arm bar and chin lock. Tamina biels Ember across the ring because she wants Nia.

Nia tags in and Tamina with punches but Nia with a clothesline in the corner. Nia with a rolling splash and she kicks Tamina. Nia misses a splash into the corner. Tamina with a head butt. Nia with a head butt of her own. Tamina with another head butt and a leaping head butt. Tamina misses a thrust kick and Nia gets Tamina on her shoulders but Tamina escapes and she kicks Nia in the leg. Nia with a head butt. Tamina gets Nia up and hits a HUGE Samoan drop!

Dana tags in and she punches Nia but Nia sends Dana into the corner and hits a splash. Ember tags in and hits Eclipse for the three count.

Winners: Ember Moon and Nia Jax

Tamina goes after Nia after the match and Ember tries to play peacekeeper. Ember is pushed away and Tamina takes Nia down. Ember and Tamina look at each other and they send Nia over the top rope. Tamina has words for Nia on the floor and Ember tries to throw Tamina over the top rope but she cannot do it. Tamina tries to throw Ember over the top rope and Dana pushes both of them over the top rope.

– We take a look back at the Bella Betrayal of Best Friend Ronda Rousey. Ronsa is next but first… We go to commercial.

In the Arena:

Back from the break and out comes RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey to the ring. Rousey says we all saw how The Bella Twins betrayed her in front of the whole world last week. She just wants an explanation, they at least owe her that. Ronda calls The Bella Twins out to explain why they attacked her. The music hits and out comes The Bella, Brie Bella & Nikki Bella.

Nikki says first of all, no one here paid to see Ronda but they paid to see The Bellas. Fans boo. Nikki says they don’t owe Ronda an explanation. Brie says this is show business, not show friends. Brie says Rousey disregarded everything they have done for the business. Brie asks what did she expect, for them to sit on the sidelines and watch Rousey? Nikki says they came back to compete because she cringed at Rousey being the face of the revolution. Nikki says Rousey is a loser who doesn’t deserve anything. Nikki says she deserves to be champion, not Rousey. Nikki goes on about how they and other women made the word “Diva” mean something, made it strong and powerful. She goes on about how The Bellas made people want to see women’s wrestling even more.

Nikki says she has already done more in the ring than Rousey ever will. She goes on and says the title Rousey carries around wouldn’t even exist if it weren’t for them. Rousey says she tried… fans cheer for Rousey. Rousey says she tried her best to be respectful, she really did. She knew WWE was their territory first and she tried to not be judgmental, even though everything the Divas era stood for made her sick. She goes on about how she thought she and The Bellas could be driving forces together but that was her mistake. She was too naive and idealistic. She calls them DNB’s – Do Nothing Bellas. She says they weren’t there to support her, they were there because cameras were also there and she’s never seen such desperation. She says they have the absolute minimal amount of talent. They leached off their men. Fans pop at that line. Rousey says they plagiarized and diluted their men’s move-sets. They’re not pioneers, they’re relics of the past, waiting to be eradicated like smallpox. She goes on and says the only thing stopping her at Evolution is a referee and we know they’re not good at holding her back. Rousey says she will ruin them, no matter how much marketing is put into them. Brie says Rousey just sounds really jealous of them. Brie says the word Bella did more last week worldwide than Rousey has in her career here. Nikki rants on how they have broken down more doors and how Rousey doesn’t even compare to them. Rousey says she’s been knocking down doors her entire career – in judo, Strikeforce, UFC and now here at home in WWE. Fans pop for Rousey.

Rousey says the only door Nikki ever knocked down was the door to John Cena’s bedroom. Fans go wild at the shot. Rousey says Cena eventually threw Nikki out of that same door. Rousey asks if they’re going to come get the ass whipping they deserve or does she have to come give it to them? They look to head to the ring for a fight but they stop and taunt Ronda on the stage instead. Several security guards come down and walk down the ramp, The Bellas’ own private security team. Rousey takes them all down at ringside for another pop. The Bellas retreat to the back. Rousey stands on the apron and calls them back to the ring, fired up as the crowd cheers her on. Rouse stands tall as her music hits.

– The announcers show us how RAW General Manager Kurt Angle made his surprise return to qualify for the World Cup last week.

Backstage:

The WWE Hall of Famer is backstage with Bobby Roode and Chad Gable now and he’s decked out for vacation, Hawaiian shirt and all. Gable and Roode leave as No Way Jose comes in and dances with Angle a bit. Acting RAW General Manager Baron Corbin walks in and says he’s arranged a match for Angle tonight. Angle says he didn’t bring his gear. Corbin says he will figure it out but the match is a Handicap Match against The Authors of Pain. Corbin walks off.

– The announcers plug the current Breast Cancer Awareness Month campaign with Susan G. Komen.

WWE World Cup Qualifying Match: Dean Ambrose vs. Dolph Ziggler

We go to the ring for the next WWE World Cup qualifying match as Dean Ambrose makes his way out. Back to commercial.

They lock up and Ambrose with a side head lock take down. Ambrose with a shoulder tackle and he gets a near fall. Dean with crossfaces and he gets a near fall. Dean with a suplex and he gets a near fall. Ziggler with an elbow and neck breaker for a near fall. Dolph with a reverse chin lock and body scissors. Dean escapes a neck breaker and he catches Dolph and hits a fallaway slam that sends Dolph to the floor. Dean sends Dolph into the ringside barrier a few times.

Dean goes up top and leaps over Ziggler and rolls through. Dean with a double leg take down and he goes for a cloverleaf but Dolph kicks Dean away. Dean goes to the turnbuckles and Dolph goes up and hits a Super X Factor as we go to commercial.

We are back and Dean blocks a super kick. Dean with a catapult into the ring post. Dean with a Northern Lariat and clothesline. Dean with a back elbow and then he drops Dolph on the top rope. Dean with a double underhook but Dolph with an elbow. Dolph goes for a hesitation DDT but Dean blocks it and he applies a Cloverleaf. Dolph gets to the ropes and Dean releases the hold. Dolph with a hot shot but Dean with a butterfly gourdbuster for a near fall. Dean goes up top and Dolph crotches him.

Dean pushes Dolph off the turnbuckles and he holds his knee. The referee focuses on Dolph and Drew comes out to stop Dean. Seth stops Drew and they exchange punches. Dean comes off the turnbuckles with an elbow. Dean accidentally hits Seth before returning to the ring. Dolph with a super kick for the three count.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler

After the match, Seth goes into the ring to check on Dean and Dean walks past Seth and goes up the ramp. Seth follows after Dean and they push each other. Roman comes out to be peacekeeper but Baron Corbin’s music plays. Baron says he does not want the Shield to break up on his watch. They will face Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre, and Braun Strowman tonight. Dean walks to the back while Seth and Roman stare at Baron.

– We go to the ring and out comes the Mixed Match Challenge team of Finn Balor with Bayley. Cole plugs the new WWE NXT UK series on the WWE Network as we go back to commercial.

– We are back and Dolph Ziggler says that they have them where they want them. Drew says they will isolate Dean tonight. He says that he wants Braun to destroy Seth and Dean and make Roman watch. Braun says he knows how to beat the Shield. If either of you mess up, you will GET THESE HANDS.

Finn Balor vs. Jinder Mahal

Mahal with a kick and slam for a near fall. Mahal with a reverse chin lock. Balor with a drop kick after rolling through on a sunset flip by Mahal. Balor with a boot and Slingblade. Balor with a running drop kick that sends Mahal into the turnbuckles. Balor goes up top and hits Coup de Grace for the three count.

Winner: Finn Balor

After the match, Balor and Bayley celebrate until the music interrupts and out comes Bobby Lashley with Lio Rush. Lashley enters the ring and flexes in Balor’s face as Rush hypes him up on the mic and taunts Balor. Balor leaves as Lashley poses. He’s in action next after the commercial.

Bobby Lashley vs. Tyler Breeze

Back from the break and Lio Rush is running his mouth while Tyler Breeze and Bobby Lashley get the bell. Rush sends Lashley to the corner to keep posing and flexing.

We finally get some action and Breeze nails an enziguri. Lashley comes back with a one-arm vertical suplex. Rush continues working the mic. Lashley with a one arm Full Nelson. Lashley dominates but wastes some time. Breeze looks to turn it around but Lashley cuts him off and nails a powerslam. Rush chants Lashley’s name some more and laughs. Lashley plants Breeze into the mat and covers for the easy win.

Winner: Bobby Lashley

After the match, Rush enters the ring and continues running his mouth as Lashley stands tall and his music plays.

In the Arena:

We are back and Trish Stratus comes out and she is joined by her tag team partner at Evolution. Lita.

Lita says what’s up to Philadelphia. She says it is good to be back home. One week from Sunday is the first ever All Women’s Pay Per View, Evolution. Lita is interrupted by Alexa Bliss’ music and Alexa is joined by her partner at Evolution, Mickie James.

Alexa says she has this. Future Hall of Famer and current Hall of Famer. She gets her. She knows that Lita was going to ask what are they going to do. They are going to be humiliated at Evolution. Alexa asks if she forgot anything. She says that she nailed it. Mickie wants to do Trish and Alexa says if anyone can do Trish it is Mickie. Mickie says that as Trish, Mickie James is so much better than her. At Evolution, she will finally put an end to Stratusfaction. Alexa says Mickie does Trish better than Trish does Trish, but she forgot to do the point thing. Mickie says that you haven’t been in a WWE ring in a long long long long long time. Since you have been kicking back, they have been kicking butt. Alexa says that Team Bestie reuniting is all about nostalgia but nostalgia is fleeting. You are delusional if you think you will win at Evolution. Alexa tells them to dig off their dusty boxes that say wrestling gear. If you are going to get off the couch with no warm up or practice, you are crazy.

Trish says that they have a chance to make history but you are talking about practice. Trish says they are talking about making history and your talking about practice. Lita says they can use some practice. Trish says practice makes perfect. Lita wants some practice right now.

Mickie says they are serious since they took off their jackets. Mickie and Alexa walk halfway down the ramp and turn around.

– Bayley walks in teh back and she sees the Riott Squad. Liv wants to be saved before she gets hugged. Ruby says nobody has to worry about Bayley without Sasha. We go to commercial.

Kurt Angle vs. The Authors of Pain

Back from the break and The Conquistador is in the ring. Apparently this is WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle. Out next comes The Authors of Pain, Akam and Rezar. WWE 205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick leads them to the ring.

The bell rings and they go at it. Baron Corbin comes out to the stage and watches from a chair. They look to dominate the masked man early on but it seems fishy as he forgot how to do the ankle lock. They easily drop the Conquistador with the double team slam and Akam covers for the pin.

Winners: The Authors of Pain

After the match, Drake enters the ring and stands tall with The AOP. Drake orders them to unmask Angle but as expected, it’s just some unknown jobber, not Angle. The real Kurt Angle suddenly appears on the stage and drops Corbin with the Angle Slam for a big pop.

– The Riott Squad is backstage taunting Natalya from outside of her locker room door. We go back to commercial.

Natalya vs. Ruby Riott

We are back and Natalya has a mic before she comes to the ring. Natalya asks if Ruby thought she would walk blindly to the ring with you and your hooligan friends and get attacked three on one. She has back up. Bayley comes out and then Natalya says she is not done yet. They found a friend who would help them even the odds. Sasha Banks joins Bayley and Natalya.

The bell rings and Natalya unloads on Riott, sending her into the ropes. Riott lands a kick in the middle of the chaos and drops Natalya for a 2 count. Riott keeps control and covers for another 2 count. Natalya with a roll-up out of nowhere. Riott drops Natalya with an elbow for another 2 count. Riott keeps Natalya grounded and talks some trash now. Fans try to rally for Natalya but Riott levels her for a close 2 count.

Riott with thrusts in the corner as the referee warns her. Natalya counters a move in the corner and dumps Riott over the top rope to the floor. Liv and Logan check on Riott and she returns to the ring. Riott talks some trash but Natalya slaps her and drops her. Natalya applies the Sharpshooter but Logan runs in and nails her for the disqualification.

Winner by DQ: Natalya

After the bell, a big brawl breaks out between both teams. Liv decks Sasha and dumps her to the floor. Bayley is also tossed out. They go to triple team Natalya but Sasha and Bayley pull Riott to the floor. Bayley and Sasha go after Liv and Logan next, taking turns on them in the ring. Liv takes a Backstabber and a Bayley-to-Belly suplex. Natalya with a big German suplex to Ruby. The Riott Squad retreats as the others look on from the ring.

– We see Elias backstage bullying another staffer around. Back to commercial.

In the Arena:

Back from the break and Elias is out with his guitar.

Elias mentions how John Cena and everyone else knows that WWE stands for Walk With Elias. He gets some heat when mentioning the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz and knocking the city of Philly. He also disses the Phillie Phanatic, mascot of the Philadelphia Phillies. Elias is interrupted by the music of Apollo. Apollo says he just figured it was his turn to come out and interrupt Elias. Elias says Apollo better pray he’s on his good side tonight and tonight is not the night he makes a star out of Apollo. Apollo says he’s not like Elias, he doesn’t sing and stuff but what matters is what he does when he gets in the ring. Elias takes more shots at the Philly sports teams and Apollo. Apollo says he’s kept his mouth shut for too long, he’s sat in the back for too long and watch other people pass him by, like Elias, and he’s sick of it. Elias goes on about how he’s better than Apollo and says he’s going to show what happens when you interrupt him.

Elias gets ready for a fight but Apollo rocks him and presses him high over his head, holding him in the air. Apollo drops Elias to the mat and talks some trash, saying that’s who he is. Apollo poses in the corner as his music hits.

– We see Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns backstage talking. Still to come, The Shield vs. Strowman, Ziggler and McIntyre. Back to commercial.

Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre, Dolph Ziggler, and Braun Strowman

Seth and Dolph start the match because Braun wants to see Dolph do something. They lock up and Dolph with a side head lock. Rollins catches Dolph on a cross body attempt and slams Dolph. Dean tags in and hits a sliding clothesline. Rollins with an elbow drop and Dean with an elbow drop. Rollins tags in and they make a wish. Dolph kicks Seth into Dean as Dean goes to the apron and we get an argument between Seth and Dean. Roman tags in and Braun attacks all three men in the corner. Dolph with a hesitation DDT for a near fall.

We go to commercial.

We are back and McIntyre with an arm bar on Roman. Roman with punches. Drew with a spinebuster and he gets a near fall with a jackknife cover. Dolph tags in and applies an arm bar. Roman with an arm drag and clotheslines. Braun wants to be tagged in but Drew makes the tag. Roman with a flying clothesline to Drew. Braun tags in and he Irish whips Roman and hits a clothesline into the corner. Drew tags himself in as Braun berates him. Drew kicks Roman in the corner. Braun tags himself in. Braun and Drew have some words and Braun with a head butt and he sends Roman into the turnbuckles but Roman with a boot. Roman goes for a Samoan drop but he cannot get Braun up. Braun hits the ring post when he goes for a splash into the corner. Roman with a Samoan drop and both men are down.

Dolph and Drew go after Dean and Seth on the apron to stop Roman from making the tag. Ziggler tags in and then Drew tags in . They set for the Claymore and Zig Zag combination but Dean and Seth break up the cover. Dolph is sent to the floor. Drew goes to the turnbuckles and Roman with an uppercut. Rollins tags in and hits a springboard clothesline and he tags in Dean. Dean and Seth with double clotheslines and they send Drew over the top rope to the floor. They send Braun to the floor. Dean and Seth with suicide dives onto Dolph and Drew on one side. Dean and Seth go for a double suicide dive but Braun catches them by the throat. Roman with a Superman punch off the steps to Braun.

Dean goes for an elbow off the turnbuckles but Drew with a boot. Dean with a jackknife cover. Dean with a double underhook DDT on Drew and Dolph pushes Seth onto Dean to break up the cover. Seth tries to calm Dean down and Dean says they have been together for six years and he says he will take care of this himself. Dean and Seth fight each other and Dolph with a Zig Zag to Dean but Dean kicks out.

Drew has Dolph get Dean up for the Claymore and Zig Zag but Roman with Superman punches. Braun goes into the ring post. Drew goes for a Claymore on Roman but he misses Roman and hits Strowman. Roman with a spear to Drew. Ziggler goes for the Zig Zag against the ropes and Roman blocks it. They hit the erberus Bomb and Dean gets the three count.

Winners: Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns

After the match, The Shield stands tall together as their music hits. Reigns clutches the Universal Title as Rollins is handed the Intercontinental Title. The Shield walks up the ramp as the others recover. Strowman stares down Drew and he’s not happy. Braun enters the ring, where Ziggler and McIntyre are still working their way up. Fans chant “get these hands” as Braun stares them down. Braun grabs Ziggler and says he warned him what would happen if he screwed up. Braun scoops Ziggler and hits the running powerslam. Braun turns around to a big Claymore from McIntyre. Drew looks down at Braun and leaves the ring as his music hits. Strowman stumbles to his feet. Drew turns around on the ramp and stares back at Strowman. We go to replays. We come back to Strowman and Drew staring at each other. Drew walks to the back as RAW goes off the air.
