NXT “Takeover: WarGames” Results – Nov 18, 2017

Pre-Show:

We’re live from the Toyota Center in Houston, TX with Charly Caruso, Sam Roberts and WWE Hall of Famer Booker T as the NXT “Takeover: WarGames” Kickoff pre-show begins. Booker talks about being in WarGames and they then promote Survivor Series weekend on the WWE Network.

– We see Andrade “Cien” Almas arriving earlier in the day with Zelina Vega. We also see NXT Champion Drew McIntyre arriving. Charly leads us to a video package on Almas vs. McIntyre for later tonight. Booker and Sam both believe Drew will retain tonight. Back from a break and we get a video package for tonight’s Fatal 4 Way to crown a new NXT Women’s Champion with Kairi Sane, Peyton Royce, Nikki Cross and Ember Moon. Christy St. Cloud is backstage with Royce and Billie Kay now. Billie takes over the mic and tells Christy to go away. Peyton talks about how she’s in the best shape of her career and ready for tonight. She also knocks the others and says she will win the title tonight. Booker talks about how Ember came through his wrestling school. Sam believes Ember will win the title. We go outside to Kayla Braxton with a bunch of wild NXT fans.

– Kayla sends us back to the panel for more hype on tonight’s show. We go to Mauro Ranallo, Percy Watson and Nigel McGuinness to go over tonight’s matches. Mauro confirms that WarGames will close the show. The announcers go over the rules before sending us to a video package on the main event. We go back to the panel for final hype on tonight’s show. Sam and Booker both pick The Undisputed Era to win. Charly wraps the pre-show.

NXT “Takeover: WarGames” Opener:

The WWE NXT “Takeover: WarGames” event opens up with a video package.

We’re live from the Toyota Center in Houston, TX as Mauro Ranallo welcomes us to Takeover. He’s joined by Nigel McGuinness and Percy Watson as fans do the “NXT!” chant. Mauro shows us the double-cage hanging above the double-ring.

Kassius Ohno vs. Lars Sullivan

Sullivan runs Ohno into the corner after the referee tries to separate them. Ohno with a series of elbows and kicks but they have no effect on Sullivan. Sullivan with a running shoulder tackle followed by a forearm to the back. Sullivan with knees to Ohno’s ribs that send Ohno to the floor. Sullivan with a shoulder tackle off the apron. Sullivan hot shots Ohno on the apron. Ohno with a boot and drop kick but Sullivan with a clothesline to send Ohno back to the mat. Sullivan sends Ohno to the floor but Ohno lands on the apron and he kicks Sullivan but Sullivan with a pop up power slam for a near fall.

Sullivan goes up top and misses a diving head butt when Ohno moves out of the way. Ohno kicks a clothesline attempt and connects with elbows and kicks followed by a jab and forearms. Sullivan stays on his feet but he is against the ropes. Ohno with a running forearm to the back of the head and Sullivan stays on his feet. Ohno with a cyclone kick for a near fall. Ohno with more kicks but Sullivan wants more. Ohno stomps on Sullivan’s head and Ohno follows with a back senton for a near fall.

Sullivan takes another forearm and Sullivan fires back with forearms of his own. Ohno with a rolling elbow and then he goes for another rolling elbow but Sullivan with the Freak Accident for the three count.

Winner: Lars Sullivan

After the match, Lars stands tall and yells out as we go to replays. Lars marches to the back while the referee checks on Ohno. Lars stops to turn around and talk some trash as Ohno looks on.

– We see some of the UK stars in the crowd.

– The Undisputed Era is in the locker room and William Regal stops by to talk to them.

Aleister Black vs. Velveteen Dream

We go to the ring and out first comes Aleister Black with a special entrance. Black waits in the corner as The Velveteen Dream makes his way to the ring next.

Dream tells Black that the crowd knows his name as they chant it. They lock up and go around the ring and then go to a stalemate. Dream with a slap but Black with an arm drag into a wrist lock. Black with an arm bar. Dream with a snap mare but Black with a hammer lock. Dream with another snap mare but Black escapes another chin lock attempt with a hammer lock. Black with a snap mare and a front face lock. Black is backed into the ropes and Dream misses a punch. Black with a waist lock.

Dream with a standing switch. Black with an arm bar and an octopus out of a crucifix. Black with a sunset flip for a near fall and Black flips over the back and applies an arm bar. Dream with a forearm but Black with a forearm. Dream with punches. Black sends Dream over the top rope to the floor. Black teases a dive into the floor and Black lands in a seated position. Dream gyrates for Black but Black does not want to look at him. Dream moves to do some more gyration but Black does not look. Dream sits down in front of Black to mock him.

Black slithers towards Dream to mock Dream. Black with a rollup for a near fall. Black with an arm drag and wrist lock but Dream goes to the ropes and floor to send Black into the ropes. Dream with a clothesline and kicks. Dream sends Black into the corner and punches him. Black is sent to the floor and Dream flips to the apron and then rolls back into the ring. Black drops Dream on the middle rope and Dream gets Black on his shoulders but Dream gets to his feet.

Dream with a super kick for a near fall. Dream punches Black. Dream with a neck breaker for a near fall. Dream with a rear chin lock while sitting on Black’s back. Dream goes for a version of Sister Abigail but Black with kicks to stop him. Black gets tied up in the ropes by Dream and he wants Black to say his name. Black kicks Dream before Dream can slap him. Black with forearms. Dream with a slap but Black with a boot and clothesline followed by an elbow and leg sweep. Black with a running knee to the head and Black with a forearm into the corner.

Black with an Irish whip that sends Dream sternum first into the turnbuckles and Black follows with a quebrada for a near fall. Dream with a shoulder in the corner. Black kicks Dream from the corner and leaps over Dream. Dream gets Black on his shoulders but Black escapes. Black with a knee. Dream with a kick. Black with a forearm. Dream with a rolling Death Valley Driver for a near fall.

Dream gets Black on his shoulders and climbs the turnbuckles but Black gets to his feet and Dream misses a punch. Black with a kick to the back and a running knee to the head for a naer fall. Dream with a swinging DDT and he rolls over but Black gets a shoulder up before the three count. Dream goes up top for the elbow drop but Black gets his boot up and Dream is caught up in the ropes.

The referee tells Black to stand back and Black with a boot to Dream in the ropes. Dream with a super kick but Black with a jumping round kick and both men are down. Black with Black Mass for the three count.

Winner: Aleister Black

After the match, Black sits up as his music hits and we go to replays. We come back to Dream with his arm on Black, who is still sitting beside him. Fans chant “say his name” as Black takes a mic. Black tells Dream to enjoy infamy, and finally says his name. Black’s music hits and he leaves as Dream recovers. Black stops on the ramp and turns to look at Dream before turning back to exit.

– We see SAnitY backstage warming up. Regal walks in and talks to Eric Young but we can’t hear what they’re saying.

– We see Asuka, Funaki and Finn Balor at ringside.

– They air a video package for tonight’s Fatal 4 Way.

NXT Women’s Championship
Fatal 4 Way Match
Kairi Sane vs. Ember Moon vs. Nikki Cross vs. Peyton Royce

NXT General Manager William Regal is in the ring with the title. The SAnitY remix hits first as Nikki Cross makes her way to the ring. Kairi Sane is out next, followed by Peyton Royce to a pop. Billie Kay is with her. Billie gives her some words of encouragement before heading to the back as Peyton goes to the ring by herself. Ember Moon is out next to a bit of a home state pop.

All four figure out how to start things and they move closer to the center of the ring. Royce goes after Moon while Cross goes after Sane. Moon with a drop kick to Cross. Royce kicks Sane and punches her in the corner. Nikki takes Moon down and Royce punches Coss. Royce goes for a suplex but Moon with a head scissors to counter. Cross leaps on Moon’s back and applies a sleeper but Royce with a spinning heel kick for a near fall. Royce and Cross go to the floor.

Sane is sent to the apron by Moon and Moon with a forearm. Moon with a pescado onto Cross. Sane with a running forearm off the apron to Royce. Moon with a suicide dive onto Royce and Sane. Cross goes for a reverse DDT on the apron but Moon stops her. Moon with a power bomb to Cross on the floor. Sane sends Moon back into the ring. Moon has a super kick blocked by Sane and Sane with a forearm. Sane with chops and she hits a running shoulder into the corner. Sane misses a shot on Royce on the apron and Royce with a knee and a half Lotus Lock in the ropes.

Moon with a thrust kick to Royce to get her to release the hold. Royce with a forearm to Moon but Moon sends Royce to the floor. Sane with a rollup on Moon for a near fall. Moon with a forearm and Sane with a spear to Royce when Moon leap frogs Sane. Sane with a spinning back fist. Moon kicks Sane on the turnbuckles. Moon with a forearm to the back as they battle on the turnbuckles. Royce stops a superplex for a Tower of Doom.

Royce gets a near fall on Moon and then on Sane. Cross goes up top and hits a cross body on all three opponents. Cross with punches to Moon in the corner and then she does it to Sane and puts her in the tree of woe. Cross with kicks to Sane. Cross with forearms to Royce followed by a clothesline that sends Royce over the top rope to the floor. Cross with a swinging fisherman’s neck breaker for a near fall on Sane. Moon with a thrust kick to Cross and Moon goes to the turnbuckles. Cross with a forearm to Moon but Moon with a forearm.

Cross stops a slingshot move from Moon with a forearm and a hanging swinging neck breaker for a near fall. Royce with a fisherman’s exploder for a near fall. Sane with an Alabama slam of Royce onto Cross. Sane with an elbow drop onto both Cross and Royce but Moon breaks up the cover. Moon is stopped on the turnbuckles but Sane. Royce sends Sane into the guardrails. While Royce sets up for a move on Cross, Moon hits Eclipse for the three count.

Winner and NEW NXT Women’s Champion: Ember Moon

After the match, fans pop as Ember celebrates. Regal enters the ring to present her with the title. We go to replays. We come back and Asuka is also in the ring with Ember and Regal. Asuka presents the title to Ember and they hug. Ember poses with Regal and Asuka in the middle of the ring before hitting the ropes to raise the title. We get another replay of the finish. Ember stares at the title before raising it again and kissing it.

– We see Regal backstage talking to Roderick Strong and The Authors of Pain.

Kevin Owens is shown at ringside, weaering a t-shirt for The Undisputed Era. Samoa Joe is also shown at ringside.

– We get a video package for the next match.

NXT Title Match: Andrade “Cien” Almas vs. Drew McIntyre

We go to the ring and out first comes Andrade “Cien” Almas with Zelina Vega. NXT Champion Drew McIntyre is out next as the bagpipes start playing. They meet in the middle of the ring as Drew lays the title down. We get formal ring introductions from Mike Rome. The referee raises the title as they face off. Almas mushes Drew in the face and then retreats to the corner.

They lock up again and Almas pushes Drew but goes into the ropes to stop Drew from responding. Almas with a slap and a side head lock. Almas lands on his feet on a belly-to-back suplex attempt and then he floats over Drew in the corner and applies a side head lock. Drew with a shoulder tackle but Almas with a kick to the leg and he returns to the side head lock. Almas tries to float over again but Drew with a kick to the midsection followed by a kick to the head.

Almas goes into the ropes and hangs out, looking tranquilo. Drew kicks Almas to the floor and then he chops Almas on the floor. Almas kicks Drew from the apron. Vega goes for a head scissors but Drew catches Vega and puts her on the apron. Almas goes for a suicide dive but Drew with a forearm and he gets a near fall. Almas goes to the apron and he drops Drew on the top rope. Drew misses a shoulder into the corner and hits teh ring post. Almas kicks Drew on the floor and then sends him back into the ring.

Almas gets a near fall. Almas with a triangle in the ropes and then he gets a near fall. Almas with an arm bar. Drew catches Almas and hits a suplex throw. They exchange punches. Drew with a clothesline and chop. Drew with a forearm in the corner followed by an overhead belly-to-belly throw. Drew with a splash and another belly-to-belly throw. Drew goes up top and hits a clothesline.

Drew gets Almas on his shoulders and then Almas gets to his feet. Drew with a Schwein for a near fall. Almas with a drop kick that sends Drew into the turnbuckles. Drew avoids the running double knee strike but Almas does hit an elbow. Almas with a reverse tornado DDT for a near fall. Drew blocks the hammer lock DDT. Almas is on Drew’s shoulders and Drew blocks a reverse rana but Drew hits a reverse Alabama slam for a near fall.

Drew goes up top and Almas hits a drop kick to send Drew to the floor. Almas with a slilngshot but Drew catches Almas on a rana attempt. Almas blocks the power bomb and he sends Drew into the ring post with a rana. Almas goes up top and hits a moonsault onto Drew. Almas gets a near fall. Almas crotches Drew and then puts him in the tree of woe and hits a double stomp. Almas with a running double knee strike for a near fall.

Drew with a sit out power bomb for a near fall. Drew sets for the Future Shock but Almas escapes and chops Drew. Drew with a head butt. Almas with a rollup for a near fall. Drew hits Future Shock but Almas kicks out. Almas goes for a sunset flip power bomb to counter a Super Schwein. Almas drops Drew on the top turnbuckle and then hits a running double knee strike to the back of the head for a near fall. Almas with punches to Drew.

Almas goes to the floor and the referee goes to Almas but Vega with a spike rana. Almas with a hammer lock DDT but Drew kicks out at two. Almas charges at Drew but Drew with a Claymore. Vega puts Almas’ foot on the rope to stop the count. Almas drops down when Drew goes for a Claymore and Drew gets caught on the top rope. Drew goes up top but Almas counters and hits a hanging DDT for the three count.

Winner and New NXT Champion: Andrade “Cien” Almas

After the match, Almas takes the title and celebrates with Vega. We go to replays. We come back to Almas and Vega celebrating as the referee checks on Drew. Almas goes to the announce table and poses on top with the title as his music hits. Drew is still sitting up in the ring, talking with a trainer and official. Almas and Vega leave with the title.

We come back from a break and sirens go off as the cage is lowered for the main event. We also get a video package for WarGames.

– We see Dustin Rhodes at ringside with WWE Hall of Famer Arn Anderson.

WarGames: SAnitY vs. The Undisputed Era vs. The Authors of Pain and Roderick Strong

We go to the double-ring and the rules are explained. The music hits and out first comes NXT Tag Team Champions Eric Young, Alexander Wolfe and Killian Dain of SAnitY. Dain and Wolfe enter the shark cages as Young enters WarGames to start. The Undisputed Era is out next. They taunt Dain and Wolfe in their shark cage. Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish enter their shark cage as Adam Cole heads to the structure. Cole stands in one ring while Young stands in the other, talking trash. Out next comes The Authors of Pain with WWE Hall of Famer Paul Ellering. Roderick Strong is out next to join them, wearing similar gear. Akam and Rezar enter a shark cage while Strong heads to the ring. Ellering barks at one of the referees.

Fans chant “this is awesome” as Cole, Strong and Young face off. We see the other teams in the shark cage. Young and Strong approach Cole but he swings first and Strong drops him. Young goes for Cole but Strong pulls him away. Strong and Young go at it now. Cole tries to get shots in but Strong keeps kicking him away. They all face off again for a stand-off. Mauro stresses that the match doesn’t officially start until all 9 Superstars are in. Young drops Strong and goes to work on Cole now. Strong with a backbreaker on Young. Strong and Cole go at it now trading shots. Strong blocks a dropkick and catapults Cole into the cage wall but he blocks it. Cole climbs up but Young and Strong meet him on the top rope.

They all three trade shots on the top rope now. Cole crotches them both and they fall to the mat. Cole stomps away on Strong, then Young. Strong ends up landing hard on the partition that connects the two rings. Cole goes at it with Young and hits him with a fireman’s carry into a neckbreaker over the knee. Cole turns his attention to Strong in the other ring now. Cole beats Strong down in the corner. Cole continues to keep control of both opponents now. Cole with a swinging neckbreaker on Strong, then Young.

Strong fights back with chops and a lariat on Cole. Strong takes turns on Cole and Young from corner to corner now. The clock starts counting down and one team is let loose. Fish and O’Reilly are freed. They hit the ring and go right for Strong, double teaming him.

The Undisputed Era takes out Strong and triple teams Young now, taking turns on him. Cole works on Young while Fish and O’Reilly double team Strong now. Strong takes a hard wheel-barrow suplex and rolls to the partition. Fish works on Strong while Young is double teamed. Strong gets triple teamed now after Young goes down with a kick. All three hit running attacks on Strong against the steel now. Fans cheer as The Undisputed Era reigns supreme and stands tall. The timer starts up again. Akam and Rezar are let loose now. They rush the structure.

Akam and Rezar have trouble getting in but they overpower and push the door open as The Undisputed Era tries to block them. Akam and Rezar unload on The Undisputed Era now. Cole gets launched from one ring to another. Young charges but they backdrop him from one ring to the other. The Authors launch partner Strong onto the other 4 opponents now. We get replays. Young is tied up in the Tree of Woe now, as is O’Reilly. They drive Fish and Cole into Young and O’Reilly while they’re tied upside down. Wolfe and Dain are finally freed from their shark cage.

Wolfe hits the ring with a nightstick. He unloads on Akam and Rezar with it. Dain is still hanging outside of the structure. Dain goes under the ring as Wolfe continues with the stick. Dain brings a few steel chairs, trash cans, a chain and kendo sticks into the ring. Young with chair shots for everyone. Fans chant for tables as SAnitY runs wild. Dain leaves the cage and brings a table from under the ring as fans go wild. Dain slides the table in as Wolfe and Young keep control. Dain brings another table in. Wolfe ducks a chair shot, which bounces back and hits O’Reilly in the face. Wolfe suplexes O’Reilly and slams Cole on a trash can. Dain is finally in the structure now and the door is closed, then locked.

Dain swallows the key and then he clotheslines Strong, Fish, and O’Reilly. Dain with forearms to Akam and Rezar. Dain with a splash into Akam and Rezar and then he hits a running drop kick back senton. Dain goes up top and he hits a cross body on everyone. Dain gets the first near fall of the match. Dain goes into the ring with Cole and Cole swings the kendo stick but Dain blocks it. Dain gets Cole up in a vertical choke. Kyle with kicks. Cole goes for a sunset flip and Dain hits a Michinoku Driver onto Fish for a near fall on both men. Kyle is sent into the cage.

Dain gets Kyle on his shoulders and he catches Strong for a Fallaway Slam and Samoan Drop combination. Dain and Rezar exchange forearms between rings. They move into the first ring and Dain wtih a forearm. Rezar with a boot to Dain but Dain with a bicycle kick. Dain with a cross body. Akam with a kick and a power slam for a near fall. Kyle with a tornado DDT on Akam. Young with a waist lock on Cole but Cole with an enzuigiri. Fish and Storng with kicks. The Undisputed Era hit Chasing the Dragon on Strong. Dain clotheslines Cole.

Dain misses a double clothesline on Fish and O’Reilly but they do not miss with kicks. Kyle with Axe and Smash on Wolfe. Kyle tries to choke Wolfe with the chain and then he wraps him up in the chair and applies a cross arm breaker. Young climbs the cage and he hits an elbow drop to stop Kyle. Fish with a moonsault onto Young to break up the cover. Rezasr and Akam with Super Collider on Fish and O’Reilly with Dain between the rings and in the middle of the action.

Young sends Rezar into Akam and Young with a forearm to Akam. Young gets Rezar on his shoulders and he hits a Death Valley Driver onto Akam. Young gets a near fall. Cole and Strong with forearms. Strong with a back breaker on Coel and then he hits one on Wolfe. Young with a jumping knee to Dain but Dain stays on his feet. Strong with an Olympic Slam on Dain but Cole with a super kick to break up the cover.

Cole goes up top but so does Young. Cole is between the rings and Strong climbs the turnbuckles as well. Dain and Wolfe stop Strong while Fish and O’Reilly stop Young. Akam and Rezar hit a double Tower of Doom and Cole is still on the turnbuckles between the rings. Cole laughs at everyone and then he realizes Akam and Rezar are looking at him. Rezar crotches Cole and Akam and Rezar move the tables.

The tables are set up next to each other in the second ring. Akam and Rezar climb the turnbuckles for a double belly-to-back superplex but Wolfe stops Akam and Rezar. Cole with elbows. Wolfe with forearms to Rezar. Cole climbs to the top of the cage. Wolfe with a German Superplex on Rezar through the table. Young with a jumping neck breaker to Akam. Kyle grabs a trash can and he tries to hit Dain with it. Kyle blocks a trash can shot. Kyle with a knee to Dain, but Dain with a clothesline to Kyle.

Referees check on Wolfe and Rezar in the other ring.

Dain grabs the trash can and puts it against Kyle’s head. Dain goes to the turnbuckles and he says something to Cole before hitting Coast to Coast on Kyle. Cole stands on top of the cage. Cole sees Strong standing in the center of the ring and Strong climbs the cage. Cole climbs down the cage but Strong stops him and they are on top of the cage. Strong sets for a superplex off the cage and he hits it on everyone. Strong covers Cole and he kicks out.

The referee makes sure that everyone is still conscious and they start to stir. Dain and Akam fight between the rings. They exchange punches. Dain misses a clothesline and then the Authors of Pain hit Last Chapter on Dain between the rings. Kyle with a sleeper on Rezar while Fish punches Rezar. Fish and O’Reilly with Total Elimination on Rezar. Young sends Fish into the ring post. Wolfe and Young hit a belly-to-back and neck breaker combination on Kyle. Strong with a reverse Olympic Slam on Young. Strong sends Cole into the cage. Young with a wheelbarrow suplex into the cage on Strong. Cole hits Young with the kendo stick.

Young grabs a chair and Cole with a Shining Wizard into the chair and Cole gets the three count.

Winners: Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, and Bobby Fish

After the match, everyone is laid out as The Undisputed Era’s music hits. A referee checks on Cole as we go to replays. Cole sits up and makes it to his feet as his arm is raised. Fans pop. O’Reilly and Fish join him as we go to more replays. The Undisputed Era stands tall in the middle of the ring but they continue to sell the beating. Young recovers and we see Wolfe has been busted open. Cole does his pose again for a pop. “Takeover: WarGames” goes off the air.
