Thanks to womens-wrestling.com for the following: Long-time WWE announcer Lillian Garcia may be wrapping up her tenure with the company soon.
Former WWE writer Court Bauer originally noted on his MLW podcast recently that Garcia – who first started with the wrestling promotion way back in 1999 – was no longer with the company. Rumors began last week when the announcer was not on television, and it was speculated that she was caught in the mass “spring cleaning” of talent that saw the release of several notable stars.
However, as recently as Thursday afternoon Lillian took to Twitter noting that she was dealing with a family emergency, and hoped to be back this coming Monday night for Raw.
While several other sites are claiming to second reports of her firing, we are still awaiting an official response from either WWE or Garcia herself.
One source noted that she may still be with the company, however they apparently won’t be renewing her contract, and she will be off television once it expires. If this is the case, while the end result is essentially the same, it would explain the conflicting reports and Lillian’s tweets, as she very well could still be on Raw this coming week.
