WWE Smackdown Results - Jun 13, 2017

WWE Smackdown Opener:

We go right to the ring as The New Day make their entrance. They've got some help from a Bourbon Street band, The Soul Rebels. Kofi Kingston takes the mic and gets the crowd to give it up for the band. They hype WrestleMania 34 being in NOLA. Xavier Woods comments on The New Day defeating The Usos this Sunday and bringing the titles back to New Orleans as champions at WrestleMania 34. The music interrupts and out come SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos.

The Usos hit the ring and raise the titles in The New Day's face. They've been the ones putting in work and grinding, and they will be the ones to leave with the titles on Sunday. The Breezango music interrupts and out comes Tyler Breeze with Fandango. They hit the ring with mics but are soon interrupted by The Colons coming out. More back and forth on the mic until The New Day music hits and we go to commercial.

The New Day and Breezango vs. The Colons and The Usos

Jey wants Kofi to start and he tags in but Jey tags in Epico. Epico with a waist lock but Kofi with a standing switch and elbow. Epico with a shoulder tackle and Kofi with a leap frog and a leaping back elbow for a near fall. Woods tags in and Kofi with a snap mare. Kofi with a kick followed by a sliding clothesline from Woods, a splash from Kofi and a near fall from Woods. Fandango tags in and he comes off the turnbuckles with a forearm. Epico punches and chops Fandango. Fandango with a head scissors on Epico followed by chops. Epico goes for a sunset flip and Fandango tries to stay on his feet and Fandango with a leg drop for a near fall.

Breeze tags in and they hit a double back elbow followed by a double fist drop for a near fall. Epico sends Breeze into the turnbuckles and Jey with a thrust kick. Jey with a slam followed by a punch and Jimmy tags in. Jimmy with a punch and Primo tags in and he punches Breeze. Primo with a rear chin lock.

Breeze wtih elbows but Primo with a kick. Breeze with an enzuigiri and Woods tags in and Woods sends Breeze onto Primo to get a near fall. Woods puts Primo in the ropes and hits a hesitation drop kick to the back for a near fall. Woods wtih chops in the corner.

Primo escapes and chops and kicks Woods in the corner. Primo with an Irish whip but he runs into a boot. Woods with the Honor Roll to Primo and Epico gets a back body drop. Jimmy and Jey fall victim to drop kicks and then they are clotheslined over the top rope to the floor.

We go to split screen while the New Day and the Fashion Police dance in the ring. The Usos and Colons distract Woods for a moment but Primo cannot take advantage and he is sent into the turnbuckles. Breeze tags in and he punches Primo but Primo with a jaw breaker. Jimmy tags in and he connects with an uppercut and then he punches Breeze in the corner. Jimmy with a chop. Jey tags in and he kicks Breeze and Jimmy with an uppercut. Jey waits for Breeze to get up and he gives Tyler a hard Irish whip. Jey with another hard Irish whip. Epico tags in while Jey grapevines the leg and Epico with punches.

Epico gets a near fall and then he applies a reverse chin lock. Breeze with elbows and he tries for a sunset flip. Primo tags in and they hit drop kicks to the chest and back. Primo gets a near fall as the commentary returns. Primo chokes Breeze in the ropes and hits a splash followed by a slingshot senton from Epico for a near fall. Jimmy tags in and he hits a back breaker and Jey comes off the turnbuckles for an elbow and he gets a near fall.

Jey sets for a running butt splash into the corner and he connects. Jey gets a near fall. Jey with a rear chin lock on Breeze. Breeze with a jaw breaker and Epico tags in and he hits a double sledge to the back to stop Breeze. Epico goes for a suplex and he takes his time to send Breeze to the mat and he gets a near fall. Epico with a reverse chin lock.

Fans chant for The New Day. Woods gets the hot tag and unloads on both of The Usos as Jimmy tagged in also. Kofi tags in and springboards in, taking out Jimmy. Kofi with the Boom Drop. Uso blocks Trouble In Paradise but Kofi comes right back around and hits it. Jey runs in and breaks the pin.

Fandango takes out Jey but falls to the floor. Primo tags in but Kofi blocks a Backstabber. Woods tags in and goes to the top as Kofi holds Primo. Woods nails the assisted stomp and covers for the pin.

Winners: The New Day and Breezango

After the match, the babyfaces celebrate as we go to replays. Big E talks some trash as The Usos look on from the stage with the titles.

- Still to come, Charlotte vs. Natalya. Back to commercial.

- We are back and on July 4th, John Cena will be back.

Backstage:

Shinsuke Nakamura and AJ Styles are in the back and AJ says that Sami gets a little excited for the big matches. Sami shows up and he wants to know what are they going to do. AJ is shocked that Sami said so little. Sami starts to talk strategy and he asks for ideas, but Sami suggests that he start against Corbin. Sami wonders if they are strategizing against them. Will they start with Ziggler or Owens. AJ says they are good and Sami says the high fives will wait until the victory celebration later tonight. Sami leaves and Nakamura says he likes Sami.

Backstage:

Mojo Rawley is asked about his match last week against Jinder Mahal and his loss. He is asked what is next. Mojo thanks Shane for the opportunity but he came up short last week. Jinder is a fierce competitor and different than the man he beat two months ago. A loss like last week's is devastating. He says a small part of him is glad he lost. He deals well with adversity and that loss will help elevate him. Zack Ryder pats Mojo on the shoulder and he congratulates him on last week. Zack says they have some unfinished business as a team.

Naomi vs. Tamina Snuka

We go to the ring and out comes SmackDown Women's Champion Naomi for this non-title match. Back to commercial.

Before the match starts, Lana's music plays and she makes her way to the ring.

They lock up and Tamina backs Naomi into the corner. Naomi with forearms but Tamina pushes her out of the corner. Naomi with more punches but Tamina with a head butt to Naomi to get her out of the corner. Tamina tosses Naomi around the ring by the hair. Tamina with a rear chin lock. Tamina with a punch but Naomi with a series of round kicks. Tamina blocks a third one and sends Naomi to the mat. Tamina sends Naomi into the turnbuckles and connects with forearms and then hits a running hip splash into the corner for a near fall. Tamina with a reverse chin lock.

Tamina with a short arm clothesline and she gets a near fall. Tamina goes for a belly-to-back suplex but Naomi lands on her feet. Naomi with a round kick. Naomi with kicks to Tamina and she goes for a cross body but Tamina catches Naomi and hits a uranage for a near fall. Tamina goes up top and Naomi with an enzuigiri to stop Tamina and Naomi sends Tamina to the mat and Naomi hits a split legged moonsault for the three count.

Winner: Naomi

After the match, Lana attacks Naomi from behind and hits a sit out power bomb and then she takes the title belt and stands over Naomi with it.

- Jinder Mahal walks in the back with the Singhs as we go to commercial.

In the Arena:

We are back and the Singhs introduce the WWE Champion, Jinder Mahal.

Jinder wants everyone to rise and show some respect to your WWE Champion. He says he will prove on Sunday that Randy Orton is a coward and afraid to let down his home town of St. Louis. He is afraid of disappointing his family. Jinder says that Randy's father and other stars from the past will be sitting in the front row. Jinder says that Randy refuses to confront him and it is because of fear of Jinder Mahal. Fear of the Modern Day Maharaja.

Ever since he embarrassed Randy at Backlash, he has been acting like a defanged garden snake. He will cut away at Randy's legacy until there is nothing left of the Orton name. The sun has risen on a new era. Jinder speaks in Punjabi.

Randy Orton's music plays and the Singhs stand in the aisle, but Orton comes through the crowd and hits Mahal with an RKO out of nowhere. Orton slithers out of the ring and goes through the crowd.

Backstage:

Baron Corbin and Dolph Ziggler get ready in the locker room and the Face of America enters. He wants to talk and he tells Baron not to act up. Dolph asks Kevin if he is going to tell them to follow their lead. Baron says he won't listen to Kevin. Kevin says he does not like Baron and he likes Dolph a little more than he likes Baron. Kevin says there are two options tonight. They can work together and take out Nakamura, Sami, and AJ. Then on Sunday it is just the three of them to try to get the briefcase instead of six. Or you can punch him in the face. Dolph can kick you in the face and then Kevin can power bomb Ziggler. They don't have to be friends, they just have to not be their own worst enemies. Back to commercial.

Backstage:

We are back and Randy Orton is asked by Renee Young about comments about his legacy being on the line. Randy says he said all he had to in the ring. He will take back what is his in his hometown on Sunday.

Natalya vs. Charlotte Flair

They lock up and Natalya with a snap mare but Charlotte with a head scissors. Charlotte with a snap mare and rollup with a bridge for a near fall. Natalya with a forearm while Becky is in a room with a monitor. Natalya with a hammer lock and she sends Charlotte to the match as we go to split screen,

Natalya walks over Charlotte and gets a near fall. Charlotte with a back body drop and a knee drop to the head. Natalya with forearms and a knee in the corner. Charlotte with elbows and she goes to the turnbuckles but Natalya pushes Charlotte to the floor. Natalya sends Charlotte into the ring and gets a near fall. Natalya with a forearm to the back and an abdominal stretch.

Natalya with a snap mare and then she runs over Charlotte and hits a drop kick. Natalya with an Irish whip and Charlotte does the Flair Flip in the corner but Natalya with a discus clothesline. Natalya kicks Charlotte in the ribs and then gets her up in a surfboard. Natalya with a forearm to the back and then she sends Charlotte into the turnbuckles. Charlotte and Natalya exchange forearms and Charlotte with a back slide for a near fall. Charlotte with an Irish whip and chops. Charlotte with a Flair Knee Drop and strut. Charlotte with an exploder and she walks across Natalya.

While we see Carmella and James Ellsworth watching on a monitor, Charlotte goes up top for a moonsault and she hits it but Natalya kicks out.

Charlotte is sent to the apron and she pulls Natalya down by the hair. Natalya stops a moonsault attempt and Natalya hits a sit out power bomb for a near fall. Natalya tries for the Sharpshooter but Charlotte with a boot and she gets a near fall. Charlotte with a thrust kick for a near fall. Natalya with an inside cradle for a near fall. Charlotte with a kick and Natural Selection for the three count.

Winner: Charlotte Flair

- The announcers plug Money In the Bank, Great Balls of Fire and the WWE Network.

- We get another edition of The Fashion Files from Breezango before going to commercial.

- Back from the break and we get a WWE Heroes promo. We also see video of a young fan, Jarrius "Little JJ" Robertson, being presented with a WWE Hero Award before SmackDown went on the air. We also see Jarrius and his family sitting at ringside.

Backstage:

Dasha is backstage with Lana, asking about the controversy she's created as of late. Lana doesn't care what Dasha or the WWE Universe thinks of her. She asks if we saw what she just did to Naomi. Lana says she will shake the world when she crushes Naomi and becomes the new champion on Sunday.

Kevin Owens, Baron Corbin and Dolph Ziggler vs. AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura and Sami Zayn

We go to the ring and out comes WWE United States Champion Kevin Owens for tonight's main event. Baron Corbin is out next, followed by Dolph Ziggler. Sami Zayn is out first for his team. AJ Styles is out next to a big pop. Shinsuke Nakamura is out last for another big pop. We go to commercial.

The match is joined in progress and Ziggler with a wrist lock on Nakamura but Nakamura with a reversal and a knee to the midsection. Nakamura with a snap mare and knee drop. Nakamura with boots in the corner. Ziggler with an uppercut and drop kick. Owens tags in and he kicks and punches Nakamura. Corbin tags in and he punches Nakamura and connects with knees. Corbin chokes Nakamura in the corner. Ziggler tags in and he snap mares Nakamura and applies a sleeper.

Ziggler with a leaping elbow drop but he misses. Styles tags in and he chops Ziggler and hits a flying forearm. Styles takes care of Corbin on the apron before hitting a splash on Ziggler and then he hits a pump handle gutbuster. Styles takes care of Owens and hits an Ushigoroshi on Ziggler. Owens goes after Styles and Zayn stops him. Owens is sent to the floor and Zayn with a plancha onto Owens.

Styles sets for the Styles Clash but Ziggler counters into a DDT and Ziggler gets a near fall. Corbin and Zayn tag in and Zayn leaps over Corbin. Corbin with Deep Six for a near fall.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Ziggler with a sleeper on Zayn. Zayn with punches but Ziggler with a running back elbow. Owens tags in and he punches Zayn. Owens with a snap mare and he goes for the back senton but Zayn gets his knees up to stop Kevin. Owens with a DDT to stop Zayn from making the tag and Owens gets a near fall. Corbin tags in and he kicks Zayn. Corbin runs Zayn into the turnbuckles and punches him.

Corbin with a punch but Zayn pushes back. Corbin goes to the floor and runs around the post and returns to the ring for a clothesline. Owens tags in and punches Zayn. Zayn with a Blue Thunder Bomb and both men are down. Corbin tags in and he stops Zayn from making the tag. Ziggler is knocked off the apron when Corbin sends Zayn into the corner. Zayn with a clothesline to Corbin. Ziggler tries to stop the tag but Zayn moves and Ziggler goes to the floor. Owens suffers the same fate. Zayn lands on his feet on a belly-to-back suplex attempt. Corbin goes after Zayn and Zayn drops down and Corbin goes over the top rope. Zayn tries to make the tag but Owens and Ziggler pull Styles and Nakamura off the apron.

Styles with a forearm to Corbin from the apron and Zayn with a Helluva Kick for the three count.

Winners: Sami Zayn, AJ Styles, and Shinsuke Nakamura

After the bell, Ziggler immediately attacks AJ and Sami in the ring, unloading on them. Fans chant "yes!" as Owens brings a ladder into the ring. Ziggler and Owens grab the ladder and run it into Sami as he stands up. They also drop AJ with the ladder. Ziggler and Owens look up at the briefcase before having words. Corbin runs in and takes them both down, sending Ziggler out of the ring. Corbin grabs the ladder and decks Owens with it. Ziggler gets on the apron but Corbin knocks him off with the ladder. Corbin positions the ladder and climbs up for the briefcase. Nakamura runs in and pushes the ladder over. Nakamura hits Corbin with a Kinshasa. Nakamura stands the ladder up as fans chant his name. Nakamura climbs up to grab the briefcase while his music hits and fans cheer. SmackDown goes off the air with Nakamura on top of the ladder with the briefcase while the other MITB competitors are down on the floor.
