Kevin Owens Echoes Grayson Waller’s Praise for NXT’s Women’s Division

Grayson Waller’s surprise appearance on the July 28 episode of NXT put a spotlight on the brand’s women’s division. During his promo, Waller called out the men’s roster for lacking the drive shown by the women, saying they were being outperformed week after week.

As NXT prepares for its Canadian tour in October, Kevin Owens was asked by FACES Magazine which talents fans should keep an eye on. Owens didn’t single out one name. Instead, he backed up Waller’s comments about the women stealing the show.

“It’s very hard to nail one down,” Owens said. “I’m going to echo what Grayson Waller said on NXT a few weeks ago. There’s a lot of very talented people in NXT, but the women of NXT are kind of whipping the dude’s asses right now as far as in‑ring work and performance.”

Owens added that fans attending the Canadian shows will likely walk away talking about the women’s matches.

“I don’t want to just single out one, but there’s a few guys to keep an eye on for sure. I think the people that go see that NXT show, what they’ll walk away from talking about is going to be the women on the show because they’re all pretty excellent. The future is bright for the women’s division in WWE when you see the girls that are in NXT and their work.”

Owens is set for a major match this week, as he challenges CM Punk for the Undisputed WWE Championship on Friday’s episode of SmackDown.
