Raja Jackson, the son of MMA veteran Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, has begun serving a 90-day jail sentence following a no contest plea in an assault case tied to a professional wrestling event.
The 25-year-old turned himself in to a Los Angeles County jail on Thursday. The sentence stems from an August 2025 incident at a KnokX Pro Wrestling Academy show in Sun Valley, where wrestler Stuart Smith was seriously injured.
The case drew attention due to the setting. While wrestling matches involve planned physicality, prosecutors determined the situation went beyond a scripted performance and led to legitimate harm.

Jackson agreed to a plea deal in May, pleading no contest to a battery charge. As part of the agreement, he must serve 90 days in jail, complete two years of formal probation, and pay $81,000 in restitution to Smith.
According to court records, Jackson surrendered on Thursday to begin his sentence. His attorney, Michael Freedman, stated that Jackson is expected to finish the jail term before returning to court for a follow-up hearing scheduled for late September.
Details from the case show the altercation began backstage. Smith, who performs under the name “Syko Stu,” struck Jackson on the head with a beer can. Video footage reportedly showed Smith apologizing immediately afterward, believing the moment was part of the planned storyline.
Later during the event, Jackson entered the ring while Smith was competing. What initially appeared to be a scripted interruption escalated quickly. Witnesses stated that Jackson slammed Smith to the mat and delivered multiple punches.
Court documents outline the severity of Smith’s injuries. He suffered a concussion, broken facial bones, and lost several teeth. Additional medical treatment included care for a traumatic brain injury, a shattered upper jaw, and bone graft surgery.
During Thursday’s hearing, Smith addressed the court and spoke about the lasting effects of the incident. He said his recovery process has been lengthy and remains ongoing. He also shared that he continues to deal with memory issues and reduced cognitive function, which have prevented him from working for close to a year.
Despite the outcome, Smith told the court he does not hold resentment toward Jackson. He stated that he is not seeking revenge and believes individuals can make “terrible decisions in difficult moments.”
