Owens was locked in a physical main event against Undisputed WWE Champion CM Punk when the match descended into bedlam. With the referee knocked out, Zayn made his way to ringside and drove Owens into the ring post behind the official’s back. Despite the impact, Owens fought back and planted Punk with a Stunner, though he was unable to secure the pinfall without a referee present.

The match completely unraveled moments later when Zayn slid the WWE Championship belt into the ring. Owens retrieved the title, but instead of using it as a weapon against Punk, he attempted to hand it back to Zayn.
