Motor City Machine Guns Tease Next Move After WWE Exit

The Motor City Machine Guns are continuing to generate buzz following their WWE departure, recently sharing a creative video that hints at their next destination.

Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, who were among the WWE roster cuts announced in April, uploaded a new video to their YouTube channel featuring a humorous segment built around the “five stages of grief.” In the skit, Shelley guides Sabin through each stage, though the video never explicitly states what Sabin is supposed to be grieving.

The segment builds toward a reveal involving a stack of supposed contract offers from various wrestling promotions. The duo sorts through envelopes labeled from promotions such as FMW, CyberFight, WAR, and IWA Mid-South, playing up the moment for comedic effect. Toward the end of the video, Sabin discovers one final envelope at the bottom of the pile that sparks his excitement.

However, the identity of the promotion behind that offer is never shown. Shelley then declares that Sabin has reached the “acceptance” stage, closing out the bit without confirming their next move.

Shelley and Sabin originally signed with WWE in September 2024 and quickly made an impact, capturing the WWE Tag Team Championship on the October 25 episode of SmackDown just weeks after their debut.

While the video keeps their future unclear, previous reports have suggested a likely landing spot. According to reports, expectations within the industry as of late April pointed toward the Motor City Machine Guns eventually joining AEW.

For now, the duo continues to keep fans guessing, using humor and subtle teases as they build anticipation for their next chapter.
