Motor City Machine Guns Reportedly Released by WWE

WWE has reportedly released another notable tag team, as the Motor City Machine Guns — Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin — are believed to be among the latest cuts, according to Fightful.

The duo last competed on the March 20 episode of WWE SmackDown, where they defeated Fraxiom, the team of Axiom and Nathan Frazer. They were also part of WrestleMania 42 weekend activities, appearing at WWE World for fan-related events.

Shelley and Sabin signed with WWE in 2024 after building one of the most respected careers in tag team wrestling. Shortly after arriving, they captured the WWE Tag Team Championships, adding another major achievement to their long list of accolades.

Before joining WWE, the Motor City Machine Guns were a top team across several promotions, including Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, Ring of Honor, and New Japan Pro-Wrestling. They also won championships in multiple independent promotions, further establishing their legacy.

Both wrestlers also had success as singles competitors, but their reputation was built on their work as a team. Their matches were known for speed, timing, and innovation, making them one of the most recognized tag teams of their era.

Their reported release comes as WWE continues making roster changes following WrestleMania 42. Several talents have already been confirmed or reported as released, with more names expected.

As of now, WWE has not officially confirmed their release. However, multiple reports indicate that their time with the company has come to an end.
