AEW crowned a new International Champion during the Beach Break edition of Dynamite, as Kyle Fletcher defeated Konosuke Takeshita to capture the title in a match between two members of the Don Callis Family.
Fletcher scored a decisive and clean victory over his recent rival, ending Takeshita’s reign in the process. The finish came after Fletcher connected with a running corner kick followed by a second brain buster to secure the pinfall.

The match told a clear story, with Takeshita dealing with a lingering arm injury throughout. That issue played a key role in the outcome, as it affected his ability to execute key offense, including a backslide attempt that ultimately opened the door for Fletcher’s finishing sequence. Takeshita managed to kick out after an earlier thrust kick and first brain buster, but Fletcher stayed on the attack and closed the match moments later.
This marks Fletcher’s first reign as AEW International Champion and his first championship victory since his second TNT Championship run ended in April. With this win, Fletcher has now held three different AEW titles during his career, adding another milestone to his resume.
The title change also brings an end to Takeshita’s 45-day reign. He originally won the championship at Double or Nothing in May, where he defeated Kazuchika Okada, another member of the Don Callis Family. Fletcher’s path to this moment began shortly after, when he made a surprise return from injury and turned on Takeshita, setting up their eventual showdown.
Following the loss, Takeshita is expected to shift his focus back to NJPW, where he currently holds the NJPW World Television Championship. He is scheduled to compete in this month’s G1 tournament, marking a quick transition from AEW competition back to Japan.
Fletcher’s victory adds a new dynamic to the AEW International Championship picture, while also reshaping the landscape within the Don Callis Family. With momentum now on his side, his reign begins at a time when multiple directions are possible for both the title and the faction moving forward.
