Zelina Vega Responds to Claims Her Title Win Was Linked to Aleister Black’s WWE Return

Zelina Vega Responds to Claims Her Title Win Was Linked to Aleister Black’s WWE Return – Zelina Vega recently achieved a major milestone in her WWE career, winning her first singles championship by defeating Chelsea Green for the Women’s United States Championship on the SmackDown following WrestleMania 41. The win marked a significant moment for Vega, who had long been viewed as an underutilized talent on the main roster.

However, some fans quickly speculated that her victory was less about merit and more about timing. That same night, Aleister Black — Vega’s husband — made his shocking return to WWE after nearly four years away, prompting accusations that her title win was orchestrated to coincide with his comeback.

Vega addressed the speculation during an interview on Hot 97 with Peter Rosenberg and made it clear that the timing was purely coincidental.

“It’s like the fact that, mind you, this was not planned, which I laugh about when I see a lot of the fans are like, ‘Oh my God, the only reason that she got this title is because her husband was coming back.’ I’m like, ‘Don’t you think they would have made it the world title?’” she said, emphasizing that no such coordination had taken place.

The former Queen of the Ring continued to express pride in her accomplishment, and her comments underscore the challenges female wrestlers face in constantly having to validate their success — particularly when it coincides with personal milestones or outside narratives.
