Scott Steiner Uses Classic Steiner Math to Prove Gorilla Can’t Beat the Genetic Freak – Wrestling legend Scott Steiner has once again brought fans a dose of his trademark logic, this time targeting an unusual opponent: a full-grown silverback gorilla.
In a post that quickly gained traction online, the former WCW and WWE star broke down the hypothetical scenario using his infamous “Steiner Math.” The premise was simple—one gorilla versus 100 average men—but the outcome, according to Steiner, shifts dramatically when he’s added to the equation.
“Let’s say you got 100 average men. No weapons. No training. Just fear in their eyes and dad bods in their way,” Steiner wrote. “Then you got ONE full-grown silverback gorilla — 600 pounds of pure rage, muscle, and tree-rippin’ power.”
Steiner calculated that 25% of the men wouldn’t even show up after seeing the gorilla, while another third would attempt to reason with it—rendering themselves ineffective. Another 20% would freeze entirely. That leaves around 21 men attempting to fight, but Steiner dismissed their chances as minimal.
However, the moment “Big Poppa Pump” enters the fray, everything changes.
“Now it’s not 100 men vs 1 gorilla… it’s 1 gorilla vs the Genetic Freak,” he stated. “And that spells disaster for that gorilla.”
While the scenario is clearly tongue-in-cheek, fans of Steiner were quick to embrace the absurdity and nostalgia, with many referencing his famous TNA promo from 2008.
“Let’s say you got 100 average men. No weapons. No training. Just fear in their eyes and dad bods in their way.
Then you got ONE full-grown silverback gorilla — 600 pounds of pure rage, muscle, and tree-rippin’ power.
Now here comes the math…
Outta those 100 men, maybe 25% don’t even show up once they see the gorilla. That’s 25 cowards eliminated immediately.
Then you got 33 1/3% of ‘em tryin’ to talk it out — they’re done.
Another 20% just stand there frozen, pissing their pants.
Now you’re left with about 21 guys, panicked, half-committed, and getting LAUNCHED like lawn darts.
But what if Big Poppa Pump’s in the mix? You just tipped the freakin’ scale.
Now it’s not 100 men vs 1 gorilla… it’s 1 gorilla vs the Genetic Freak. And that spells disaster for that Gorilla.”
The promo’s popularity comes just weeks after Steiner’s nephew, Bron Breakker, paid tribute to his uncle by cutting a math-themed promo of his own ahead of his Intercontinental Championship defense at WrestleMania 41. While Breakker channeled his family’s legacy with confidence, the numbers didn’t fall in his favor—he lost the match and the title to Dominik Mysterio in a Fatal Four-Way involving Penta and Finn Bálor.
Though the younger Steiner’s attempt didn’t bring victory, Scott’s legacy of chaotic numerical logic continues to live on as one of the most memorable parts of wrestling lore.
