Rusev WWE Return Sparks Locker Room Hype – Rusev’s return to WWE on the April 21 episode of RAW has reportedly been well received by both officials and fellow talent behind the scenes.
According to PWInsider, the backstage reaction to the Bulgarian star’s comeback has been described as “warm,” with many within the company expressing excitement about his re-emergence on the main roster. The report further notes that multiple WWE Superstars have already shown interest in working with Rusev, whether in singles competition or longer-term storylines.
Rusev made his surprise return following a five-year absence during a segment involving the new World Tag Team Champions, The New Day, and Alpha Academy’s Otis and Akira Tozawa. Interrupting the confrontation, Rusev made an immediate impact by attacking both Otis and Tozawa, standing tall to close the segment.
This week, WWE released a new video segment, signaling a major change in Rusev character and mission moving forward. They later confirmed that Rusev will compete in his first match back next week on RAW, where he is set to go one-on-one with Otis.
Rusev was previously released by WWE in 2020 and went on to compete under the name Miro in AEW. His return to WWE has already generated a significant buzz, both among fans and those within the company, suggesting that his second run may include high-profile opportunities right out of the gate.
