Big E Confirms Rusev’s WWE Return – During a recent Fanatics Live Signing, Big E and Tyler Breeze were sorting through cards when they came across an autographed card of Rusev, formerly known as Miro in AEW. Big E couldn’t contain his excitement as he revealed that Rusev will be making his return to WWE.
“Someone who has just been announced to return. I actually reached out to him and he confirmed that the news is indeed true,” Big E shared with enthusiasm. “I don’t know when he’ll be back. A blast from the past and now very topical because he just announced he is returning to the squared circle in World Wrestling Entertainment.”
Rusev, who had been a staple of WWE for years, was removed from AEW’s roster page in February, signaling a break from AEW television following his match with Andrade El Idolo at AEW Worlds End in December 2023. He joined AEW in 2020 after being released by WWE in April 2020.
PWInsider confirmed on April 2 that Rusev had signed with WWE. Sources reported that he spent the entire day at WWE’s Stamford offices, marking the beginning of his return to the company. While his signing is finalized, it remains unclear when he will make his return to WWE TV.
With his WWE contract reportedly secured, speculation is already building about how the company will reintroduce Rusev. Given his past success and larger-than-life persona, there’s a possibility that he could return as a powerhouse in WWE’s main event scene, potentially even entering a major storyline upon his comeback. Fans eagerly await the next chapter in Rusev’s career as he prepares to reenter the WWE universe.
