WWE Offered Stephanie Vaquer NXT or Main Roster Choice – Stephanie Vaquer recently appeared on Busted Open Radio with Bully Ray, where she discussed several topics, including her decision to sign with WWE over AEW and her choice to begin her journey in NXT.
Vaquer is currently set for a high-stakes title-for-title match against NXT Women’s Champion Giulia on next week’s episode of WWE NXT (we have a big spoiler here). However, during the interview, she reflected on why she ultimately chose WWE despite having interest from AEW last year.
“For me, WWE is my dream,” Vaquer said. “I tried to think about it like an adult, considering different options, but I knew WWE was where I wanted to be. There were many discussions, but in the end, WWE was the right place for me. I also liked the idea of learning and growing rather than rushing into something unprepared. I wanted to improve my English, learn how TV production works, and understand the American and WWE wrestling styles.”
Vaquer also revealed that when she first signed with WWE, she had the opportunity to go straight to the main roster but ultimately decided that NXT was the better option for her development.
“So WWE asked you, ‘Do you want main roster or do you want NXT?’” Ray asked.
Vaquer confirmed, saying her initial response was to choose the main roster. However, after considering her need to improve her English and adapt to WWE’s style, she decided to start in NXT instead.
With Vaquer now holding the NXT Women’s North American Championship and set for a major match against Giulia, her decision to take the developmental path seems to be paying off.
