Tony Khan "Wrestling Companies Hate Each Other"

Tony Khan “Wrestling Companies Hate Each Other” – AEW has firmly established itself as the top challenger to WWE since the days of WCW. AEW has five hours of programming on national television and AEW President Tony Khan has shown a willingness to spend on high-end free agents.

Wrestling has experienced a resurgence leading into WrestleMania XL with The Rock taking credit for making wrestling cool again.

Speaking to Christian Zilko of IndieWire, AEW President Tony Khan commented on wrestling’s hot period.

“There’s a number of big factors that would play into why wrestling has seen such a great renaissance in recent years. I think it comes from the great competition in wrestling right now, and the fact that there are so many great stars competing right now,” Khan said. “Everyone knows that the most real thing in wrestling is the competition between the companies. The companies hate each other, and it will be a natural resource that powers the industry. They want to beat each other and take everybody’s free agents, and that makes it interesting for everybody else.”

WWE and AEW have traded shots in the media and on television over the weeks with Triple H commenting on wrestlers who are afraid of the grind, and Ospreay firing back on AEW Dynamite.
