FOX Censors ‘Die Rocky Die’ Sign During WWE SmackDown Broadcast – During the opening segment of WWE SmackDown on March 1st, viewers on the east coast experienced issues with the broadcast feed. This was due to FOX’s decision to censor a sign in the crowd.
The sign, which read “DIE ROCKY SIGN,” was reminiscent of a phrase from 1997 when fans rejected The Rock’s character as Rocky Maivia. At that time, fans would display “DIE ROCKY DIE” signs, leading to a storyline where The Rock turned against the fans and evolved into his iconic persona. FOX’s decision to censor the sign may have been due to a lack of awareness about this history.
Additionally, during the segment, The Rock issued a challenge for a tag team match at WrestleMania. He proposed teaming up with Roman Reigns to face Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. The match came with an interesting stipulation: if Rock and Roman lose, The Bloodline would be barred from ringside during Cody’s match with Roman on night 2 for the Undisputed Universal Championship. However, if Rock and Roman win, the Universal Title match on night 2 would follow “Bloodline Rules,” allowing anything to happen with The Bloodline involved.
