Adam Page Fakes Injury, Launches Surprise Attack on Swerve Strickland – At AEW Revolution, ‘Hangman’ Adam Page will indeed be stepping into the ring.
During the February 28 episode of AEW Dynamite, Page addressed concerns about his status for the upcoming pay-per-view after appearing to injure his ankle on the February 21 show. Page began his promo by reflecting on his longstanding ambition to capture the AEW World Championship since the promotion’s inception in 2019. However, he revealed that, unfortunately, he won’t be able to contend for the title at Revolution.
Subsequently, Strickland emerged, shedding light on his ongoing rivalry with Page and acknowledging that he may have crossed certain boundaries in their feud. Despite expressing surprise at Page’s injury, Strickland asserted that it was fate, claiming his destiny is to claim the AEW World Championship.
The reigning champion, Samoa Joe, then made his entrance, admonishing both Strickland and Page for their preoccupation with each other, neglecting to recognize the threat he poses. Joe remained unperturbed by Page’s announcement, confidently asserting his intention to retain the title at the upcoming pay-per-view.
Redirecting his focus to Joe, Strickland proclaimed his determination to seize the world title and relegate Joe back to commentary, humorously referencing Joe’s past appearance in a poncho during commentary for WrestleMania 37.
Tensions reached a climax when Page suddenly struck Strickland with his crutch, seemingly revealing that his injury may have been a ruse. Commentary heightened the suspense, suggesting that the three-way championship match was still on track for Revolution.
