Kota Ibushi Hospitalized Due to Injuries at Pro Wrestling NOAH Event – Kota Ibushi’s match against Naomichi Marufuji at Pro Wrestling NOAH’s New Year 2024 show today resulted in injury.
The bout lasted over 30 minutes, culminating in Ibushi’s victory. However, some moments during the match drew criticism from fans, particularly when Ibushi attempted an outside moonsault and seemed to injure his ankle upon landing.
Reports from Sports Hochi indicated that Ibushi sustained injuries to both ankles early in the match. After the bout, he collapsed, showing signs of severe pain. While he managed to make his way backstage, his condition necessitated calling an ambulance, and he was subsequently transported to a hospital in Tokyo for further assessment.
Ibushi’s wrestling career has been illustrious, notably with successful tag team endeavors in DDT Pro Wrestling alongside Kenny Omega. His tenure in NJPW, where he found considerable success, ended in 2023 before joining AEW. Notably, he has not competed since WrestleDream.
