Kenny Omega Yet to Undergo Surgery

Kenny Omega Yet to Undergo Surgery – Last month, Kenny Omega announced that he was out indefinitely due to a diagnosis of diverticulitis, sharing a hospital photo on social media. However, nearly a month later, Omega has not undergone surgery.

Omega received the diagnosis after the December 13th Dynamite show, where he displayed signs of pain backstage. The seriousness of the situation became apparent as he was informed that he was fortunate to have sought medical attention when he did, as the condition could have had severe consequences.

The potential for a blood infection, with a roughly 50 percent chance of death, was averted due to the timely diagnosis.

However, as per the latest report in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter by Dave Meltzer, Omega has yet to undergo surgery following the diagnosis.

Meltzer wrote, “Due to the inflammation being so bad he couldn’t have surgery at the time and as of last week still hadn’t had it. The decision will be made in about seven weeks, based on his healing, on whether he’ll need surgery or not, but if he does, that would put him out of action significantly longer.”

There is no timeframe on when he will return at this point. We wish him a speedy recovery.
