The return of Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns is also confirmed, continuing his storyline with Randy Orton, potentially leading to a match at the Royal Rumble next month.
According to Pwinsider, WWE NXT stars Axiom and Olympic Gold Medalist Gable Steveson were sighted earlier in Green Bay, Wisconsin, before the show. However, their roles or involvement in tonight’s SmackDown remain uncertain.
Steveson has made appearances in a few NXT house shows since his in-ring debut at WWE NXT Great American Bash, where he triumphed over Baron Corbin. On the other hand, Axiom has been involved in recent SmackDown matches, notably in a well-received bout against Dragon Lee.
