Matt Riddle Set for MLW Debut

Matt Riddle Set for MLW Debut – Matt Riddle is set to make a splash in Major League Wrestling (MLW) following his departure from WWE.

His non-compete clause with WWE concluded on December 21, allowing discussions and signings with other wrestling promotions.

Fans who attended a Battleground Championship Wrestling event last weekend at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia were handed fliers for MLW Kings Of Colosseum on January 6, where Riddle was advertised on the poster for a match against Jacob Fatu, marking his anticipated debut for MLW. MLW couldn’t legally sign Riddle until his WWE non-compete clause was up.

Pwinsider noted MLW sources confirmed to them that Riddle will be debuting for the promotion on that date.

After a successful run in NXT and on the main roster where he also held the Raw Tag Team Titles with Randy Orton, things went downhill for Riddle following Orton being sidelined with a serious back injury that resulted in them dropping the titles before WWE had to nix plans for a feud against each other. Riddle went to rehab last summer due to substance issues that resulted in failed drug tests. He had been paired with Drew McIntyre before his release. He was among the mass talent releases that hit the company hard across NXT and the main roster a few months ago.
