Drew McIntyre Under Consideration for Men’s WarGames Match at WWE Survivor Series – There’s speculation that Drew McIntyre might be added to the men’s WarGames match at WWE Survivor Series. The current lineup features Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn, Cody Rhodes, and Jey Uso facing off against The Judgment Day team comprised of Damian Priest, Finn Balor, Dominik Mysterio, and JD McDonagh.
WWE’s video package announcing that WarGames would be the theme of this year’s Survivor Series indicated that there would be 10 participants in each WarGames match.
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is contemplating including McIntyre in the Judgment Day squad.
The men’s War Games match right now is listed as having Seth Rollins & Sami Zayn & Cody Rhodes & Jey Uso vs. Damian Priest & Dominik Mysterio & Finn Balor & JD McDonagh. There were reports that this will change and McIntyre will be part of the Judgment Day team. I was just told that this is under consideration and could happen. That would lead to someone having to be added to the other side. While there’s a roster full of people who would fit that bill, there is nobody obvious. Kevin Owens makes the most sense on a storyline basis. Ricochet would fit from a spectacular basis but he’s questionable for that date due to the possibility of a concussion. Bronson Reed would be an unpredictable pick who would benefit from a main event.
McIntyre, who has recently portrayed a tweener character, had an unsuccessful World Heavyweight Championship challenge against Seth Rollins at Crown Jewel. Notably, McIntyre had declined assistance from Judgment Day leading up to the match. After his loss, a backstage segment showed him in a reflective mood, with Rhea Ripley passing by and offering a shrug.
McIntyre refused to speak about his Crown Jewel loss on Raw this week.
It’s expected that there will also be a women’s WarGames match at Survivor Series. The event is being held at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois on Saturday, November 25.
