This news follows WWE’s recent announcement of its first-ever PLE in Germany, “Bash in Berlin,” scheduled for August 31, 2024, at the Mercedes-Benz Arena. Additionally, the 2024 Elimination Chamber is set to be held on February 24, 2024, at Optus Stadium in Perth, Australia.
Nick Khan, a key figure within WWE, has expressed the company’s interest in securing site fees from governments to facilitate the hosting of WWE PLEs in various cities. WWE has already benefited from such arrangements, receiving nearly $3 million in subsidies from the Welsh government for “Clash at the Castle” in September 2022 and roughly $1.5 million from the Puerto Rican government for “Backlash 2023.”
Additionally, an article in the Catalyst published on Tuesday revealed that the St. Petersburg/Clearwater, Florida tourism board paid $500,000 to bring the Royal Rumble to Tropicana Field next January.
