Wardlow Skeptical of MJF's Newfound Attitude

Wardlow Skeptical of MJF’s Newfound Attitude – Wardlow, who formerly served as MJF’s bodyguard and later engaged in a heated rivalry with the self-proclaimed generational talent, Mr. Mayhem, emerged victorious against MJF at AEW Double or Nothing 2022. Subsequently, MJF claimed the AEW World Championship. Over the past few months, MJF has undergone a transformation into a somewhat babyface character, adopting the persona of the fans’ lovable “scumbag.” This significant shift in his demeanor has marked a notable departure from the MJF that fans had grown accustomed to.

In an interview with Jeff Adams for Sports Nightly, Wardlow expressed his profound skepticism regarding MJF’s recent evolution.

“I don’t know if there’s a number that exists that will satisfy me, for the amount of powerbombs that MJF is due and deserves. I understand, in the past four months, he has somehow convinced everybody in the world to cheer for him and feel sad for him and feel sorry for him.”

“It just amazes me how somebody can do horrible, evil things for years, and then they come out and they say sorry and spew out some fake tears, and now all of a sudden, everybody forgets about all the bad they’ve ever done and they want to embrace them. Well, I’m a little more intelligent. I see right through his BS, and I am not one of the people that have sat at home cheering on MJF for the past four months.”

Additionally, Wardlow offered a piece of advice to Adam Cole, who had formed a fan-favorite tag team with MJF during the latter’s recent run as a “babyface.” Collectively known as “Better Than You Bay Bay,” they captured the ROH World Tag Team Championship, becoming a popular duo on AEW programming. However, Wardlow suggested that Cole should consider preemptively severing his partnership with MJF before the AEW World Champion inevitably betrays him.

Worth noting, Adam Cole is currently on the mend from ankle surgery, and there is no confirmed timetable for his return to the ring.
