Josh Barnett To Face Claudio Castagnoli At AEW WrestleDream – Former ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli has secured a spot on the AEW WrestleDream card in Seattle, Washington. Castagnoli issued an open challenge to Josh Barnett, marking his return to action after losing his championship just over a week ago against Eddie Kingston.
Castagnoli revealed on “AEW Collision” that he’s ready to move forward and face Barnett, a former UFC heavyweight and a crossover star in combat sports. Barnett, although yet to appear in AEW, brings his extensive background from NJPW, the independent scene, and his own promotion, Bloodsport.
Adding to the anticipation, Barnett, who hails from Seattle, will enjoy home-ground advantage at WrestleDream, joining other Washington talents like Bryan Danielson, Swerve Strickland, and Darby Allin on the show.
This matchup between Barnett and Castagnoli will be part of the “Zero Hour” pre-show at the Climate Pledge Arena. It joins other exciting bouts, including Luchasaurus vs. Nick Wayne and The Acclaimed and Daddy Ass against TMDK.
