Gunther Sees WWE Title Chase as Organic Character Evolution – WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther certainly seems open to the idea of chasing the WWE World Championship in the future. During an interview with Wrasslinews, when asked about his intentions regarding the world title, Gunther expressed that it’s the natural progression for his character.
While Gunther is currently focused on his reign as Intercontinental Champion and has no plans of losing the title, he did mention the Royal Rumble as a potential opportunity. If he were to participate and perform well in the Royal Rumble match, it could lead to a significant WrestleMania moment for him.
“Yeah, I mean, that’s the natural progression from that one, I think. But we’ll see where that goes. I’m still the Intercontinental Champion. I’m not planning on losing the title. We’ll see; the Rumble is in a few months. If I’m in there, I think I’m one of the favorites. That would lead to WrestleMania. Yeah, we’ll have to see.”
It’s worth noting that Gunther recently made history by becoming the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion of all time, surpassing the legendary Honky Tonk Man’s record. This achievement highlights his impressive tenure and the potential for even greater success in WWE, including a potential run with the WWE World Championship in the future.
