Backstage News on Drew McIntyre's Contract Situation

Backstage News on Drew McIntyre’s Contract Situation – Drew McIntyre’s contract status with WWE has been the subject of speculation, and the former WWE Champion recently commented on the matter during media appearances to promote WWE Superstar Spectacle in India.

While McIntyre did not provide a definitive answer regarding his contract status, he acknowledged the online rumors and discussions about his future. He emphasized that he focuses on the present and does not dwell on the past or future.

WWE sources have indicated that the company’s primary focus in recent times has been finalizing the acquisition by Endeavor, which is expected to close in the near future. This has led to limited movement in McIntyre’s contract negotiations.

One source revealed that McIntyre’s contract was extended due to his three-month absence earlier in the year. As a result, McIntyre is now under contract with WWE until around WrestleMania 40, giving both sides approximately seven months to reach a new agreement, if McIntyre intends to stay with the company. WWE officials have not rushed to finalize a new deal, aligning with previous narratives from earlier in the summer.

The Scottish Warrior recently took a hiatus from WWE following WrestleMania 39, during which he reportedly had creative frustrations and was negotiating a new WWE deal set to expire next year. He made a comeback at Money in the Bank and has since been involved in feuds, including a rivalry with GUNTHER for the Intercontinental Title. Currently, McIntyre is aligned with Matt Riddle on WWE RAW.

Triple H appeared during the Money In the Bank post-show press conference in July and was asked if locking McIntyre in is a priority. He said it is a priority, and then said the amount of speculation on McIntyre has been funny. He added that McIntyre took some time off after WrestleMania for a minor injury, but while he was out they decided to get “something else” fixed, but he did not elaborate. Triple H then praised McIntyre as a talent and said he hopes McIntyre finishes his career in WWE.

The future of Drew McIntyre in WWE remains uncertain, and fans will likely be eager to see how contract negotiations progress in the coming months.
