Update on Drew McIntyre’s New WWE Contract – More details have emerged regarding Drew McIntyre’s decision to re-sign with WWE.
According to Dave Meltzer’s Daily Update, McIntyre has inked a three-year contract with the company. Despite a hyperextended elbow that will keep him off house shows for the time being, McIntyre will continue to make appearances on television.
Meltzer elaborated on the contract’s significance during a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, emphasizing the wisdom of McIntyre’s decision to opt for a three-year deal in a landscape where WWE typically offers five-year contracts to talent.
“I viewed three years as very smart on his part,” remarked Meltzer, acknowledging WWE’s preference for longer-term commitments.
While the financial terms of McIntyre’s contract remain undisclosed, Meltzer suggested that he should be among the top-paid wrestlers in the company.
“Drew you could argue would be (number) three or four (in terms of being the top guy in the company). And three or four right now, you’re talking four million dollars a year,” speculated Meltzer, underscoring McIntyre’s potential value to WWE. While the exact figure remains unknown, Meltzer’s assessment suggests that McIntyre’s earning potential aligns with his status as one of WWE’s premier talents.
