AEW Releases Ace Steel – A week following the release of CM Punk from AEW due to his physical altercation with Jack Perry at AEW All In 2023, AEW has also severed ties with Punk’s close friend Ace Steel.
PWInsider reported today that AEW has released Ace Steel. Notably, Steel had been working remotely, away from Collision shows, to prevent any potential issues with talent.
Prior to Punk’s AEW return for the premiere of Collision, there was a dispute between him and AEW regarding the rehiring of Steel. This led to Punk being temporarily removed from the AEW Collision announcement, but Steel was eventually rehired, allowing Punk to proceed with his return.
As of now, neither CM Punk nor Ace Steel has made any public comments about their respective releases. However, there are reports suggesting that Punk’s eventual response will be “explosive.”
