News On Ace Steel’s Role In AEW And Collaboration With Tony Khan – Ace Steel’s journey with AEW has taken a unique turn since his departure following the September 2022 All Out brawl.
After being let go from his role as a producer, Steel has returned to AEW under special circumstances. Despite his re-hiring and presence on the payroll, recent TV tapings have been without him, and this situation is not expected to change.
Upon his re-hiring, Steel was informed that he’s regarded as an “insurance risk” due to the past incident and, consequently, was barred from attending shows. Recent interactions between Steel and AEW President Tony Khan led to an arrangement where Steel can contribute to AEW in a capacity that doesn’t require him to be on the road. He is also permitted to explore opportunities outside of AEW.
Steel maintains a connection with AEW, engaging in discussions and periodic conversations with Khan. Additionally, he offers input for his longtime friend CM Punk, who currently holds the AEW “Real” World Championship on Collision.
It has been suggested that Steel might receive back-pay for the period he was absent following All Out 2022. His current AEW contract is set to expire in the Fall of 2024.
