Backstage News on Dennis Rodman’s AEW Debut

Backstage News on Dennis Rodman’s AEW Debut – Dennis Rodman made his much-anticipated debut in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) during the All Out Weekend in Chicago. The iconic basketball Hall of Famer returned to the familiar United Center, where he had previously won three NBA Championship rings as a member of the Chicago Bulls.

Rodman’s AEW debut took place on the All Out go-home edition of “AEW Collision,” where he was scheduled for an interview with Tony Schiavone. However, his appearance was abruptly interrupted by Jeff Jarrett, Sonjay Dutt, Jay Lethal, and Satnam Singh. Jarrett and Dutt attempted to strike a deal with Rodman, but things took an unexpected turn. Rodman confidently declared that he could defeat Singh and physically confronted Dutt. Jarrett, Lethal, and Singh then launched an attack on Rodman.

Coming to Rodman’s rescue were the AEW World Trios Champions known as The Acclaimed. They not only thwarted Jarrett’s group but also issued a challenge for a title match at All Out. Rodman continued to be a prominent figure throughout the AEW All Out Zero Hour pre-show, accompanying The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn to the ring. In a surprising turn of events, Rodman smashed a guitar over Singh’s head during the segment, which was allowed by the referee. The celebration that followed saw Rodman enjoying himself in the ring alongside the champions.

Reports from Fightful Select indicated that the decision to include Rodman in “AEW Collision” was made just weeks before the All Out Weekend. Jeff Jarrett had been actively proposing ideas for Rodman’s involvement in the event. At one point, it seemed uncertain whether the appearance would materialize. Nevertheless, Rodman was already in town for a Saturday signing at Starrcast VI.

Backstage sources praised Rodman for his demeanor and attitude during his time at AEW shows over the weekend, and it was evident that he relished the experience. Rodman shared behind-the-scenes footage from both nights on his official YouTube channel, expressing gratitude for the support he received.

Additionally, The United Center posted a backstage clip featuring Rodman discussing some of his former Chicago teammates and their connection to the city.
