Rumor Killer On Keith Lee Walking Out Of AEW – There were recent rumors circulating about Keith Lee reportedly walking out of AEW, but a new report from Fightful Select clarifies that the rumor is not true. Instead, there was a miscommunication between the two parties during last week’s TV tapings.
Keith Lee was present at the Dynamite and Rampage tapings in Nashville last week. At a certain point, he was informed that he wouldn’t be used for the Dynamite show, so he left the arena. This is a common occurrence when talents are informed that they are not needed for a particular show. However, he was later booked for the Rampage tapings, but this information wasn’t communicated to him before he left. As a result, the Rampage card had to be adjusted accordingly.
The report emphasizes that there’s no indication of any negative feelings between AEW and Keith Lee due to this situation. Those close to it suggest that the situation was blown out of proportion online, and sources did not seem to place blame on anyone for what happened.
Keith Lee is currently backstage for tonight’s Fyter Fest tapings for both Dynamite and Collision in Duluth, Georgia.
Regarding his wrestling trajectory, Keith Lee split from his former tag team partner Swerve Strickland in November of the previous year. While their feud was set up, the singles match never came to fruition. It was reported in early July that AEW still had plans for a match between Keith Lee and Swerve, but it’s uncertain if that will come to pass, as both wrestlers appear to have moved on in their respective storylines.
Keith Lee’s most recent match was on the August 4 episode of Rampage, where he teamed up with The Hardys to defeat The Butcher, The Blade, and Kip Sabian. His last AEW singles match was a loss to Chris Jericho on the April 12 episode of Dynamite. As of the time of this writing, that is his only AEW singles match in 2023, going back to his win over Serpentico on the October 30, 2022 episode of Rampage.
