Bryan Danielson Talks Blackpool Combat Club

Bryan Danielson Talks Blackpool Combat Club – The origins of the Blackpool Combat Club (BCC) can be traced back to the year 2022, when it was established under the guidance of William Regal. The name of the group pays homage to Regal’s own roots, hailing from the city of Blackpool in England. Regal initially took on the role of the group’s manager, overseeing its operations until his departure from AEW in November.

Initially, the BCC began as a tag team consisting of Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley. However, as its journey unfolded, the group’s composition expanded to encompass more talents, with Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli being brought into the fold.

A particularly interesting aspect of the BCC’s narrative is the belief shared by Bryan Danielson. In an interview with Sports Illustrated, he expressed a viewpoint that stands out within the wrestling industry – his earnest desire for the group to remain intact and avoid the common trend of factions breaking up.

The physiology being joining the group:

“The idea of Wheeler being with the Best Friends before, and now being with us, that makes us seem different,” says Danielson. “The idea is, when you join us, you can’t be that anymore. That kind of stuff is cool. I tried to get that across in one of my nights on commentary when Mox, Claudio, and Wheeler were wrestling The Best Friends and Rocky [on Dynamite in June]. My point was, those are the guys Okada hangs out with. Look at the guys I hang out with. That tells you so much.”

Their connection:

“Our connection as a group feels real,” says Danielson. “That’s because it is. The story is we train together and we make each other better. The reality is that wrestling together, we do make each other better.”

His belief the group should never break up:

“I love this group,” says Danielson. “This should be a group that never breaks up. Mox and I have wrestled since the BCC started, we wrestled in the championship tournament [last fall]. That didn’t cause any disturbances in the BCC. That’s the story of the BCC. When the BCC loses, we’ll shake hands and go back to training the next day.”
