AEW Suspends Ricky Starks For 30 Days, Starks Acquires A Manager’s License – AEW imposed a suspension on Ricky Starks following his controversial actions. He lashed Ricky Steamboat with his own belt after growing frustrated with Steamboat’s role in counting the pinfall during his match against CM Punk for the “Real” World Championship on August 5.
On August 12, Tony Schiavone made the announcement about Starks’ suspension. However, Ricky Starks made it clear that he intends to remain a presence on the Saturday night program. He disclosed that he has obtained a manager’s license, enabling him to stay involved.
Starting August 19, Starks announced his intentions to initiate a “war” on Collision, asserting his determination to remain a prominent figure on the show. He also emphasized his commitment to being the face of the program.
Starks further conveyed that he believes CM Punk is responsible for Ricky Steamboat’s situation, implying that Steamboat’s blood being shed during the ten lashes was a result of Punk’s actions. Before departing, Starks confidently declared that his uniqueness sets him apart on both Collision and Dynamite.
