8/5 AEW Collision Heavily Impacted By SummerSlam Competition – According to reports from Wrestlenomics, the AEW Collision episode that aired on August 5 attracted a viewership of 417,000 people. This figure represents a decline from the 739,000 viewers the show garnered on July 29. Notably, this viewership count marks the lowest since the show’s debut on June 17.

The episode achieved a 0.13 rating in the coveted 18 to 49 demographic. This is a drop from the 0.27 rating that the show achieved the previous Saturday. The show finished 16th among cable originals.

Real World Champion CM Punk vs. Ricky Starks, AEW Tag Team Champions FTR vs. Big Bill & Brian Cage, TBS Champion Kris Statlander vs. Mercedes Martinez, and AEW World Trios Champions The House of Black vs. Action Andretti, Darius Martin, & Lee Johnson was featured on the show.

It’s worth mentioning that the episode aired on a Saturday and faced tough competition. It went head-to-head with WWE SummerSlam, UFC events, and the highly anticipated boxing match between Jake Paul and Nate Diaz. The strong competition on that night may have contributed to the decline in viewership for AEW Collision.

Here are the viewership numbers for the last 4 episodes:

  • 7/15/23: 579,000 Total Viewership – 0.20 key demo rating – Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Finals
  • 7/22/23: 618,000 Total Viewership – 0.18 key demo rating
  • 7/29/23: 739,000 Total Viewership – 0.27 key demo rating
  • 8/5/23: 417,000 Total Viewership – 0.13 key demo rating
