WWE Aims To Surpass AEW Dynamite In Specific Demo Rating With NXT

WWE Aims To Surpass AEW Dynamite In Specific Demo Rating With NXT – During the “Wednesday Night Wars,” AEW Dynamite consistently outperformed WWE NXT in the ratings, which prompted WWE to shift NXT’s broadcasting night to Tuesdays.

In the past year, WWE has taken steps to bolster NXT’s TV ratings by sending more established main roster talent to the show. This approach, attributed to WWE CEO Nick Khan, has yielded positive results, especially with the inclusion of prominent figures like World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and The Judgment Day faction in NXT programming.

As previously noted, there is a prevailing desire among certain individuals within WWE to witness NXT surpass AEW Dynamite in the ratings. This aspiration aligns with the broader goal of enhancing the ratings to secure better media rights deals for NXT, thereby potentially leading to increased financial benefits for the developmental brand.

Dave Meltzer mentioned on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE is aiming to outperform AEW Dynamite specifically in the 18-34 demographic rating. However, it’s important to highlight that the most significant demographic sought after by advertisers is the 18-49 age group. This demographic is particularly valuable for advertisers as it encompasses a wide range of consumers who are considered prime targets for marketing messages.

“That should do a very good number [bringing in Rey Mysterio and Judgment Day again this week]. The thing I keep hearing is their goal, which is to beat Dynamite in 18-34 some week. And, not this last week, but the week before, they were pretty close. So, we’ll see.”
