Possible Stipulation For Ronda Rousey And Shayna Baszler “Fight” At WWE SummerSlam – Ronda Rousey is gearing up to face off against Shayna Baszler at WWE SummerSlam with a stipulation that will highlight both stars’ backgrounds in combat sports.
Rousey is set to lock horns with Baszler at the event, and according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, this match will be anything but a traditional wrestling encounter. Instead, the stipulation will play to both stars’ strengths and showcase their extensive backgrounds in MMA. Meltzer revealed:
“Rousey vs. Baszler in promos will be ‘a fight.’ We’re told the idea is not a street fight but more of an MMA rules type of match, which makes sense with both having extensive backgrounds.”
We can expect a hard-hitting, no-nonsense encounter between the two athletes.
It had been previously reported that Rousey would be departing WWE and had set a “hard out” date for her exit, which was believed to be shortly after the SummerSlam event.
Rousey’s feud with Shayna Baszler is seen as a “thank you” from Rousey to Baszler, as it guarantees TV time to her. Baszler and Rousey have worked closely when it comes to training. Baszler also helped train Rousey and transition into professional wrestling.
Many expected Rousey to return to UFC after leaving WWE, but there are no plans for her to do so at this time. Ariel Helwani, who covers both WWE and MMA events, has also stated that Rousey is not plotting a comeback to the Octagon.
