Participants For World Heavyweight Title Tournament Revealed

Participants For World Heavyweight Title Tournament Revealed – WWE announced on Sunday the six wrestlers from RAW and six from SmackDown who are entered into a tournament for the new title.

SmackDown wrestlers:

The tournament’s format will see two triple-threat matches take place on Monday’s RAW with the winners facing each other later in the show. The winner of that match will advance to the finals at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia.

Two triple-threat matches will also take place on SmackDown this week with the winners wrestling each other later that night. The winner of that match will then advance to the finals to face the advancing wrestler from RAW at Night of Champions.

WWE has not announced the Triple Threats as of this writing, but we will keep you updated.

It’s interesting to note that there are no free agents in the tournament. There had been some speculation on names like Brock Lesnar or Omos being booked for the tournament, but that is not the case unless they pull some sort of swerve at TV this week.

Monday’s RAW takes place from the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. Friday’s SmackDown is scheduled for the Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, Tennessee.
