SmackDown – WWE Draft Night 1 Results (4/28) – We are live from the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas, as Triple H makes his way to the ring to start this WWE Draft edition of SmackDown.
Triple H goes over rules for tonight – every Superstar on RAW and SmackDown can be sent to another brand, 50% of the roster will be drafted tonight, and the rest on RAW. He did not mention the picks on The SmackDown LowDown tomorrow morning. We see the Draft pool for tonight. Triple H says select WWE NXT Superstars are also eligible, and he post-Draft rosters will go into affect on Monday, May 8, coming out of WWE Backlash. He asks if we’re ready and then announces that SmackDown has selected The Bloodline – Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, Solo Sikoa and Paul Heyman. Triple H confirms now that the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion will be on RAW. The second pick goes to RAW and they choose to keep Cody Rhodes.
The third picks sees SmackDown select RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair. The final pick of round one sees RAW keep Becky Lynch. Triple H says the second round is being negotiated in the back, but in the mean-time, it’s his pleasure to introduce The Usos. The music hits and out they come.
Jey says that the Bloodline is in your city. Jimmy congratulates Roman for being the number one draft pick. Jey says they bring back gold to the Bloodline. Jimmy says that Roman hasn’t responded to them in any way. Jimmy says they are dedicating this victory to Roman. Jey says they will become nine time tag team champions.
WWE Tag Team Champions Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn come out to join the Usos on the stage.
Sami says he is not here to talk any sense into them. He says he has said everything he has wanted to say. Do you think it is strange that since they beat them for the titles at Wrestlemania, that ROman hasn’t called you or messaged you? He hasn’t said a word to you since Wrestlemania and you are dedicating this match to him? Did you see that Roman was drafted with Solo and Paul, but not with you? If that doesn’t tell you everything you need to know, I don’t know.
Jey says Sami ain’t walking out with a damn thing tonight. Jimmy says once they beat Kevin and Sami, Kevin will turn his back on you and that will be the end of this whole brotherhood.
Kevin says he is sick of hearing this crap. Kevin says the only thing he cares about is that later tonight we are going to beat the hell out of you and we are going to keep these titles.
– We go to the ring and out comes The Brawling Brutes – Butch with Sheamus. No sign of Ridge Holland. We go to commercial.
– We are back and we see the doors for the Raw and Smackdown war rooms. We see the NXT superstars in Orlando.
– We go to comments from Bianca Belair. She says she is coming back to SmackDown and she is excited to be the Smackdown Women’s Champion again. She is going to be representing all of you as the champion.
– We see how we got to this match with LA Knight angering Butch about the draft.
LA Knight vs. Butch
Knight with a punch and side head lock. Butch with a clothesline. Butch with a hammer lock and he pulls on the fingers. Butch stomps on the elbow. Knight with an elbow and he sends Butch to the apron. Butch with forearms across the chest from the apron. Butch goes up top and leaps over Knight. Butch goes for a double wrist lock and a body scissors but Knight goes to the ropes and he pulls Butch’s throat into the rope. They go to the floor and Knight with a back drop driver onto the apron.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Knight with punches and Butch with a running forearm and kick into the corner. Butch with a knee drop to the arm and he stomps on the hand. Butch with a round kick to the back of the head for a near fall. Butch with a moonsault off the apron onto Knight. They return to the ring and Butch goes up top. Knight stops Butch with a punch. Knight sets for a superplex but Butch grabs the finger and pulls at them. Knight leaps to the turnbuckles and hits a superplex for a near fall. Knight gets Butch up on his shoudlers but Butch gets to his feet. Knight with a running knee. Butch goes for a Fujiwara arm bar but Knight gets to the ropes to force a break.
Knight pulls Butch into the ring post from the apron and then Butch with Blunt Force Trauma for the three count.
Winner: LA Knight
Backstage:
The Usos are in the back with Paul and Solo and they talk about how tonight is the night. Paul says the world is distracted because the Usos will be drafted to the Island of Relevancy as champions or the Sea of Obscurity if they lose. Tonight is the night you reject the failure of the stain that Kevin and Sami put on the Bloodline. Tonight is the night you come back into the locker room as tag team champions. Paul says Roman wants you to know one way or another, he will only accept the fact that TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT, as Paul stares at Solo who tapes up his thumb.
– We see Rob Van Dam leaving the Raw room while Michael Hayes walks out of the Smackdown room.

We are back with Round Two of the Draft and Rob Van Dam and Michael Hayes come out to make the picks. The picks are as follows:

7. Smackdown selects Edge
8. Raw selects Matt Riddle
–Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins come to the ring and they have something to say. Montez says as you can see, him and his boy Angelo Dawkins are back in the blue. They are back on Smackdown and the only thing that has changed is the day they work. They still want the smoke.
The Street Profits vs. Ricochet and Braun Strowman vs. LWO’s Joaquin Wilde and Cruz del Toro
Braun, Wilde, and Ford start things off and Ford and Wilde go after Braun but Braun pushes them off and sends them to the floor. Braun punches Dawkins and sends Cruz to the floor. Braun wants to toss Ricochet over the top rope and Ricochet has some concerns after last week. Braun says he has him and Braun tosses Ricochet over the top rope onto everyone on the floor.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Ricochet punches Dawkins. Cruz punches Dawkins and Ricochet joins in to work over Dawkins. Ricochet and Cruz try to Irish whip Dawkins but Dawkins sends Cruz toward Ricochet. Ricochet with an elbow to Dawkins and Cruz with a kick to Ricochet and a missile drop kick to Dawkins. Ricochet with an Irish whip to Cruz and he goes to the apron and Ricochet hits the turnbuckles. Cruz runs into a boot and Cruz with a rolling enzuigiri to Ricochet. Wilde tags in and hits a swanton onto Ford and Dawkins. Ricochet with a springboard moonsault but Wilde moves and Ricochet lands on his feet. Wilde with a West Coast Pop to Ricochet for a near fall. Ricochet sends Cruz to the floor. Cruz tags in.
Cruz with a forearm to Braun and a kick to Ricochet. Cruz with a suplex for a near fall. Ford with a kick to Braun but Braun with an uppercut to stop a springboard move from Ford. Braun goes to the floor for the Wacky Lap and he hits Cruz and Ford but Dawkins with a flip dive onto Braun. Ricochet with a flip dive onto Dawkins followed by an enzuigiri. Ricochet goes up top and he sets for a 630 splash but Dawkins moves and Ricochet rolls through. Dawkins with a punch and Ford tags in. Ricochet with a jumping knee to Dawkins but Dawkins with Sky High and Ford with a seven star frog splash for the three count.

– We take a look at Bad Bunny’s appearance on Raw and announcement that he is wrestling at Backlash.
– Next week, Bad Bunny will be on Smackdown in San Juan.
– JBL appears in front of the Smackdown door. Teddy Long emerges from the Raw door.

We are back and John Bradshaw Layfield and Teddy Long make their way to make the announcements for Round Three:

Zelina Vega vs. Sonya Deville
They lock up and Sonya sends Vega to the mat. They lock up again and Sonya sends Vega to the mat. Vega with a wheelbarrow into an arm drag. Sonya escapes Code Red and then Vega punches Sonya. Vega with a triangle in the ropes and she goes to the floor where Green distracts Vega. Sonya with a boot to Vega and they return to the ring. Sonya gets a near fall. Sonya with kicks to the midsection in the corner. Sonya with a reverse chin lock. Vega with a jaw breaker and Sonya with a round kick for a near fall.
Sonya sends Vega into the corner and Sonya with punches. Vega blocks a delayed vertical suplex. Sonya with a back elbow and she misses a sliding knee and Vega with a rollup for the three count.
Winner: Zelina Vega
After the match, Rhea Ripley attacks Vega. Sonya grabs Rhea and Rhea with a head butt to Sonya. Chelsea gets on the apron and she remembers that she had a thing to do somewhere else. Rhea grabs Vega and goes for RipTide but Vega counters with a DDT. Vega gets out of the ring and goes to the back.
– Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are in the back as Kevin puts on his tape.

Backstage:
We are back and Santos tells Zelina he is proud of her and says something to her in Spanish. Rey Mysterio shows up and tells Zelina that he was impressed. Zelina says she is ready to wrestle in front of her family next week for the title. Rey tells Zelina that only she needs to believe. Rey says he was smaller than all of his opponents and he fought to the Hall of Fame. Fight with your heart and you will leave Puerto Rico as the new Smackdown Champion.
In the Arena:
AJ Styles, Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, and Mia Yim make their way to the ring.
Before they can speak, they are interrupted by The Viking Raiders who make their way to the ring with Valhalla.
AJ wants to slow things down a bit. AJ says he wants to see if they came out to pick a fight. Four on three, you are smarter than you look. AJ says he will back up and get on the turnbuckles. AJ tells them to handle their business.
All six pair off and Mia with Eat Defeat to Valhalla while Luke and Karl hit the Magic Killer on Erik.
AJ says they have just started. As they leave, AJ decides he have time for a Phenomenal Forearm on Ivar.
– Shawn Michaels and Road Dogg are in the back, ready for our next picks! But first, we go to commercial.

We are back and Shawn Michaels and Road Dogg are out to make the final round of picks on tonight’s show.

Meanwhile, in Florida:
McKenzie Mitchell is in Florida with the NXT superstars and she asks Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn how they feel. Isla says they have dominated NXT and… Kayden Carter and Katana Chance say they want a tag title match on Tuesday. Isla and Alba give them the match.
Backstage:
Kayla Braxton is in the back with Shinsuke Nakamura. She asks him about moving to Raw. Nakamura says he is so excited… Karrion Kross attacks Nakamura from behind and sends him into storage cases. He snarls while Scarlett stands next to him.
– Jimmy and Jey are ready to go to the ring and they tell Solo it is time to go. Paul says that tonight is the Usos night in the spotlight and Solo is going to stay in the back.
– We go to commercial as Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens make their way to the ring.
– We are told that there will be a press conference for Backlash Friday at noon on Peacock.
We take a look at the announcement of the World Championship from Raw.
– We know that the World Championship will be on Raw. Michael mentions that more people will be drafted on Smackdown Low Down on Peacock on Saturday.
– Next week on Smackdown, Shinsuke Nakamura will face Karrion Kross. We will also see Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows face Erik and Ivar. Bad Bunny will be on Smackdown.
Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn vs. The Usos for the WWE Tag Team Championships
Jimmy and Jey attack Kevin and Sami before the bell rings. Sami is sent into the announce table and ring post. Kevin is sent back into the ring and Kevin blocks a super kick but Jey avoids a stunner and hits a super kick. Jimmy tags in and the hit a double super kick for a near fall.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Kevin’s leg is sent into the ring post. Jimmy with a boot to Kevin. Jey tags in and Jimmy kicks Kevin. Jimmy tags in and he wrings the leg into the ring post. Kevin pulls Jimmy into the post and Kevin tries to get across the ring to make the tag and he does it. Sami clotheslines Jey and Jey with a back elbow. Sami with a clothesline. Sami clotheslines Jey over the top rope and he sends Jimmy to the floor. Sami sets for a flip dive and he hits it. Sami sends Jey back in and goes up top but Jey punches Sami to stop him. Sami with head butts and forearms on the turnbuckles. Sami with a sunset flip power bomb for a near fall.
Sami with a Blue Thunder Bomb for a near fall. Sami goes to the apron on the Usos’ side and Jey with a jumping thrust kick to send Sami to the floor.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Kevin tags in and knocks Jey off the apron and hits a cannonball on Jimmy. Kevin goes up top and Jimmy with a punch to stop Kevin. Jimmy punches Kevin and Kevin sets for a super fisherman’s buster and hits it. Kevin goes up top for a Swanton and hits it for a near fall.
We cut to Paul in the split screen and he received the Order 66 from Roman and Paul tells Solo it is his night.
Kevin with a kick and he tries for a stunner but Jimmy blocks it. Jimmy with a super kick and he avoids a pop up power bomb. Kevin with a pop up power bomb and Jey breaks up the cover. Sami with punches to Jey and he sends Jey to the floor. Sami with a pescado attempt but Jey with a super kick. Kevin punches Jimmy and then hits a stunner for a near fall.
Solo walks to the ring but Matt Riddle stops Solo and they fight to the back.
Jimmy has a kick blocked and he hits an enzuigiri. Jey tags in and they hit many super kicks including a double super kick for a near fall. Jimmy tags in and they set for a double super kick and they hit it on Kevin. Sami is on the apron and the Usos with a double super kick to Sami. A double super kick to Kevin for a near fall.
Jimmy holds Kevin and Jey with a super kick for a near fall. Kevin punches Jey and Jey with a super kick. Jimmy tags in and they signal for the 1D but Sami pulls Jey to the floor. Kevin with a kick and stunner to Jimmy. Sami tags in and hits a Helluva Kick for the three count, because Owens can kick out 100 times but The Usos can’t.
Winners: Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn
After the match, Zayn and Owens recover as the music hits. The Usos recover at ringside and they are disappointed. We see Sikoa staring them down from the stage area. The WWE Draft Night 1 edition of SmackDown on FOX goes off the air with Owens and Zayn raising their titles.
