Dave Meltzer is reporting that Eddie Kingston was secretly suspended by AEW several weeks ago.
Sources state that Kingston got into a verbal dispute with Sammy Guevara. Kingston’s suspension is over.
Guevara and Kingston are currently involved in a storyline that started when Guevara ran in to help Chris Jericho beat Kingston on the July 20th episode of Dynamite.
Last month on Dynamite, Kingston interrupted a Guevara/Tay Melo video package so he could issue a challenge for All Out. Guevara accepted the challenge a week later on Rampage taping and then Kingston appeared on the big screen with some words for them. Ruby Soho and Ortiz appeared to say that they would take out Guevara and Melo. The Guevara acceptance/Kingston promo never aired on TV and they haven’t referenced the match since then.
While speaking with PWinsider.com, Kingston commented on the suspension by stating the following:
“You know the truth. I wouldn’t lie. I was wrong for being unprofessional. That is the blind fact. He did what he did, and the public can judge that but I know for a fact I was wrong.”
Although he wasn’t backstage at Dynamite last week, Guevara worked Wednesday’s Rampage episode by teaming with his wife Tay Melo against Ortiz and Ruby Soho. You can check out the spoilers here.
