The Rock’s Daughter Cuts First NXT Promo – Ava Raine (Simone Johnson), the real-life daughter of The Rock, cut her first promo at last night’s NXT live event. She was presented as a heel to the audience as she talked down to Cora Jade and the rest of the NXT women’s locker room.
Raine referred to herself as “The Final Girl” during the promo, which she also put on her Twitter profile. The daughter of the former WWE Champion previously appeared at the Friday house show in Citrus Springs, Florida.
Johnson signed with WWE and started training at the Performance Center in 2020. In September of that year, she had to undergo a third knee surgery. This past May, she confirmed her WWE ring name was Ava Raine, which WWE filed a trademark for on May 13.
As seen in the photos below, Raine was trending after she dropped the promo last night, signifying that we might be approaching a televised debut for the 20-year-old. She has been teasing her debut for several weeks until last night when she finally revealed her persona to a live crowd.
