Io Shirai & Kay Lee Ray are your winners of this year’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, but the victors went with some different spoils.
Ray and Shirai defeated Wendy Chu and Dakota Kai in the finals of the tournament to close off the 3/22 episode of NXT and the match was a fight in which the Capitol Wrestling Center ate up. Ray and Shirai ultimately got their hands raised and were interrupted by Toxic Attraction.
They came to the ring to congratulate and taunt Shirai and KLR. Rose declared that Shirai and KLR will not be able to defeat Dolin and Jayne for the titles. Shirai and KLR then brought up how Rose said she would defend her title against any woman in NXT, and announced that instead of cashing in their title shot on Dolin and Jayne, they are cashing in on Rose to make her title defense at Stand & Deliver a Fatal 4 Way.
The match originally featured Rose going up against Cora Jade, but now it will be a fatal four way come a week from Saturday.
