AEW filed to trademark the “Blood & Guts” name earlier this week.
USPTO (United States Patent & Trademark Office) records show that AEW filed to trademark “Blood & Guts” on March 27. The filing is for multiple uses, including general pro wrestling/sports entertainment, and merchandise.
AEW’s Blood & Guts edition of Dynamite took place on May 5, 2021 from Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, FL. The inaugural Blood & Guts match was originally scheduled for March 2020, but it was delayed until 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. When the WarGames-style match finally took place in May of last year, the bout saw The Pinnacle (MJF, FTR, Wardlow, Shawn Spears) defeat The Inner Circle (Chris Jericho, Santana, Ortiz, Sammy Guevara, Jake Hager).
It’s likely that AEW is planning the 2022 Blood & Guts match, but there’s no word on when or where it might take place. You can see clips from the inaugural Blood & Guts match below.
