Sami Zayn is the number 1 contender for Roman Reigns’ WWE Universal Championship.
Zayn became the number 1 contender after winning the Black Friday Battle Royal at the end of tonight’s SmackDown. WWE did not say when Zayn would challenge for the title but the next pay-per-view, titled WWE Day 1, is set for January 1st in Atlanta, GA so that might be when the match happens. Zayn snuck up on Hardy after it looked like Hardy won the match but it was pointed out by the announcers that Zayn was never eliminated from the match.
After the match, Kayla Braxton announced that Brock Lesnar’s suspension has been lifted and he will be on SmackDown next week.
They are also teasing a future McIntyre vs. Reigns match at some point because McIntyre went out to the ring before the match got started because he was upset about being excluded from the battle royal.
